My son started swimming lessons 3 days ago at the inside swimming pool. The chlorine and long time water exposure dries out his skin head to toe, and his skin gets all dry and sand paper like.
He is 12 years old, what things should I bring to the pool and use on him to protect his skin?
It is a indoor pool.
Skin protection from swimming pool?
wow, he didnt know how to swim and hes 12
Skin protection from swimming pool?
oh, AK don't be so... !
search another swimming group with a chlorine-free pool.
it may be worth a try to put on water-resistant suncream before swimming...
however, get your son to showering thoroughly after swimming, and get a rich and calming body lotion for him. it may be necessary to shower again at home, if the showers at the swimming pool are also chlorinated (I had to).
Reply:I recently started going swimming-I thought it was time I did some excercise! lol. My skin does the same thing, even on my face! I don't think there's really much you can do before he swims, but I would recommend a moisturizing shower gel straight after he gets out, then ether E45 lotion or Palmer's cocoa butter body lotion. If you want a fragrance free one go for the E45, you can smell the cocoa butter in Palmer's and it smells slightly chocolatey! But yeah, I swear by them both. Hope that helps! x
