Flabby skin?
Have you gained weight ? it really tells on your joints, especially knees and hips, it can be very painfull and hard to walk at times, more so when you have been sat a while, it might feel like your skin, but its prob the extra work the joints are doing. Yes some fat people do have skinny arms and legs, unfortunetly we cant determine where the fat goes. Keep up with your walking or you will cease up, try lose bit weight, swimming may help.

Do white guys prefer light skin black girls or dark skin ones??

I was just wondering if white guys or other races prefer dating a light skin black girl or darker one. Because whenever I see a white guy with a black girl their usually light skin. Even though I'm hott, nice, fun to be around, they seem to choose the light skinned ones. Even if I look better than them. Why? I was just wondering...because I don't think it's fair. I'm really pretty (I get that alot) but it seems like I get overlooked by white guys because I'm dark (Brown skin)

Why do some of you do that? Just wondering because I'm really into white guys. I think their hott, I just don't know how to catch one because their usually after mixed, hispanic, or white girls (Which are pretty also.) I just wanna know what yall think about dark skin black girls....
Do white guys prefer light skin black girls or dark skin ones??
Me personally I think darker skinned women are more sexy but that's just me, but I also like lighter skin too.
Do white guys prefer light skin black girls or dark skin ones??
Sorry to here of your dilemma. Honestly I think pretty dark skin black girls are much more attractive than any light skin or white girl. The guys in your area just don't know what their missing. All the luck to ya. Report It

Reply:I hear where your coming from. I think everybody has personal preferences.

Some think darker is better and others lighter is. Some men find certain features attractive as others dont. Report It

Reply:DARK and thick is best(=
Reply:Yes i think dark skinned girls are much better than white girls..look at all the dark skinned singers and the actors there gorjuzz and I love a black womens body mmm

P.s im a white guy =p
Reply:They may not like you because of your attitude/arrogance.

Guys like ALL girls, looks and skin color aren't EVERYTHING.

Maybe if you change your attitude and quit thinking you are the **** (no offense) more guys will come your way.

Good luck! :)
Reply:light skin...
Reply:it may be they are closer to bein white..........
Reply:I am a white guy, but I have dated a few darker skinned women. I do not really care about skin color. I think men in general like women regardless of color. Men's tastes are as different as the women we love.
Reply:I think its all about looks. Who looks better to that particular guy. I like faces so if a girl is pretty, it doesnt matter what color or race she is to me. Dont worry, you will meet a guy who like your whole package...

What did the say in Friday lol, the darker the berry ..the sweeter the juice?
Reply:We prefer any, dont listen to the other racist comments.......
Reply:Well I am a beautiful, funny light skinned black girl and all the dudes of other races are with dark skinned girls.
Reply:I think you are insecure with the color of your skin.
Reply:The skin color doesn't matter here, white light or black. They are all beautiful!
Reply:i dont give a crap what their skin color is, i'll date a frickin' smurf if she's a good enough person (and if i dont have some ****** up charges against me)
Reply:This white guy married an Asian. Don't care about shades of gray. Apparently, you do.
Reply:i have dated both...and i liked both of them, i think with most guys its an insecurity issue. when i was younger i prolly wouldnt have dated a dark brown skin girl because it was real unusuall, but now im all up for it. i have grown up and am able to look past color. hope this helps
Reply:Don't play hard to get. I think white guys like it when girls make the first move, by this I mean flirting or suggesting a phone number exchange. Make it easy for them to ask you out. You have to give them an opening and make sure they know you are interested.
Reply:Hey! hehe..I totally agree with you...we darkies do get looked over at times..I am Indian (like frm India..im really dark...well..not that dark..kinda like milk chocolate). But seriously, I used to get looked over too...and it was defo the skin color....but their are some guys out there who like dark skin tones. I LOVE white boys! they are so sexy and hott and omg! lol My bf is English...so there are white guys out there who appericiate darker skin tones. My bf is always fascianted by my skin tone...so yep...that guy exists.

You'll meet him! I promise! hehe Good luck girl!

%26lt;33
Reply:Well, I like hispanic and the lighter dark skin, just my preference. For example: Halle Berry, whew! It's just all preferences...that's all.
Reply:Race should make no differences.............dark, light..........black, white...........or anything else...........color should never be the issue............period
Reply:My brother, he is 20, and his gf has really dark skin, and i think shes gorgeous, a lot prettier than his last gf who was also black, but she was kind of pale-ish. when I saw this question i asked him what he thought and this is what he had to say:

He said that a lot of guys he know don't date darker black girls because most of them go for black guys, not white guys.

Maybe that helps, I don't know. I bet if you just act like you would around any guy, you could probably get them, since ur pretty and stuff.

:)
Reply:I think its where you're located, because here in Carolina there are a lot of dark skinned girls with white men. I myself am starting to become attracted to more white men. Its just a particular type that I like though. Just look in different places because you're probably bored with where you're at.
Reply:It's really all personal preference ...

To some degree it's society and what a person was raised with, but it still comes back to personal preference. A guy could be raised only around white folk and so would never be attracted to a dark skinned woman because she's just too different from what he's used to ... OR the same guy could find dark skinned women even more attractive because he finds them "exotic." I don't think you're going to find a satisfactory answer to this question except that you haven't met the right guy(s) for you. *shrug*
Reply:though i am an asian but i dont think that white guys only like light dark skinned girls or whatever light skinned girls, the more you get to know a person, the more a guy will fall for you, its how things work....

sometimes, we tend to develop a sense of insecurity regarding of how we look, as long as we're confident and able to present ourselves in front of the crowd, then people will start to start paying attention to you..

No doubt that there may be some white guys who only go after white girls , but then i still believe that MORE guys tend to look at the inner beauty of a girl regardless of her skin tone...

wish you all the best and just be your very best, and dont be shy or overfriendly when you meet a white guy, then that will be a startoff for you!
Reply:White girls.....
Reply:Now that you brought that up, I noticed that too.

im sure there are SOME white guys out there that like dark skinned girls. there are alotta people in the world!

good luck!

Reply:because the dark-brown skin is not that shiny, and it's not drawing people attention like some white-brown skin.... you gotta make your self shine, like some black dude have the blink blink =P ..... dont' just sat there and say it's fair or not....

It's not that hard to draw people's attention

Bited the skin on my lips,so how to regrow them?

Ive bited the skin of my lips that now it's hard for my skin to grow back.Every time I take a shower and brush my teeth,my skin on my lips gets really moist, then dries really bad.Which way or how to regrow my skin on my lips?!
Bited the skin on my lips,so how to regrow them?
Keep them covered with chapstick. Especially before you go to bed since your skin can dry out even more. Avoid licking your lips also. It won't take long for the skin to heal up.
Bited the skin on my lips,so how to regrow them?
Burt's Bees lip balm will help to maintain the moisture and aid in healing.
Reply:Keep them moisturized with chap stick or something with Vit.E and aloe in it!
Reply:Neosporin works. Put it on before bed and wear it overnight. During the day it looks too greasy. Don't use petroleum-based products. They only retain moisture by blocking the lips' ability to breathe, making it worse. The Burt's bees idea might be better. Shea butter is a better idea, too. I have some right here. I don't use it very often because it works and I don't need it very often.

Dry Skin question?

I have sensitive dry skin and I have no idea what to use to wash my face with. All the other stuff anything scented, neutrogena, and noxema have really messed my skin up. I don't know what to use because my skin is getting really bad.
Dry Skin question?
increase you daily intake of oils. Drink 1/2 cup of olive oil per day. it works from the inside out. You may even end up loosing weight.
Dry Skin question?
you could try aveeno, i would recommend going to a dermatologist though
Reply:clean and clear cleansing cream works great on moisturizing the face and keeping you acne free
Reply:Actually, Cetaphil has been designed for people with dry, sensitive skin. I use it when my skin gets irritated or dry and it works like a charm! You can get it almost anywhere, and it comes in several different kinds. One is a soap, one is a body-butter and one is a lotion, I think.
Reply:I would stay away from anything that has alchohol in it. You can try the Cleopatra skin wash recipe. She apparently used it daily and her skin is legendary. Good luck with you skin care. Recipe Below.

Dry Skin or just change in temperture or what?

One day out of the blue, this weird all of a sudden a bunch of small bumps were all over my cheeks and on my chin. They were really small and barely visible, but you could tell that they were there if you looked close enough. The bumps weren't red and they didn't hurt at all.

I never had any zits or anything when I was younger, so this is really abnormal.

I tried to was my face really good, put lots of lotion on it, anything and everything that I could think of I tried... no luck.

My face stayed like that, for two to three days they the small bumps turned into dry skin.

I was just wondering what is going on with my skin. And what I could do to help the dry skin and make the rest of the bumps go away.

Thanks.
Dry Skin or just change in temperture or what?

Try Aloe Vera gel or maybe you should go to a professional
Reply:Without actually viewing your skin it is rather hard to make an exact diagnosis. But here are some questions for you: What skincare are you using? It may be too dry for your skin. How much water are you drinking. Water is important to help hydrate your skin. Are there any red patches with your dry skin? It may be something like eczema or dermatitis.

It would be good for you to go to a qualified beauty therapist who could diagnose your skin accurately or a dermatologist.
Reply:to be sure get to the dermatologist and get a good diagnosis. also try to keep the skin hydrated by drinking lots of fluids. try to have an all natural moisturizer and have healthy lifestyle. in battling dry skin visit http://www.skinsosilky.com for more dry skin care tips.
Reply:Perhaps you should look into your nutrition and lifestyle. Keeping yourself healthy through proper diet and active lifestyle can help balance your hormones and avoid any skin problems. Avoid anything that can make your dehydrated, and also avoid stressing on matters too much. Try a more natural approach to your skin problems to prevent any more complications, and if possible consult your dermatologist to understand more about your skin's health. Good luck to you!
Reply:Vaseline is good ,just rub a little on face before bed try for a week you will see the diff
Reply:exfoliate then super moisturize with like eucerine lotion
Reply:MaryKay has great products!!! MaryKay products are reasonably priced!! Go to marykay.com/dluce. There are different formula's for even the most sensitive skin!!
Reply:First, are you drinking enough water? Take your weight in pounds, divide in 2 and that is roughly the number of ounces of water you should be drinking every day [weight 125 lbs = about 1/2 gallon of water per day - and soda pop does not count! ).

The head of a very famous skin care line advises using a simple mayonnaise [preferablyl home-made] instead of moisturizer. My sister worked in a restaurant where she would rub on a bit of mayo [dipped with a clean spoon, so nobody was at risk] when ever things were slow, then steam it off using a paper towel with really warm water.

I used to bake every day, my friend uses her dishwasher. What you do is stick your face close enough to the door when you are opening it that your face absorbs all the steam.

If you need more suggestions, see if your library or used book store has Linda Clark's book: Secrets of Health and Beauty.

Good luck!
Reply:It sound like you are doing too much to your skin. The red soil, is it like a clay? If so, clay is VERY drying. Try not washing with soap, (just use water), or using any products for a weekend or some other period of time when you feel comfortable with perhaps not following your routine. Cocoa butter, sweet almond oil and lanolin are all natural moisturizers and tend to have NO reactions.

Mostly, though, I say give your face a break from all the products.

I recommend visiting a good dermatologist. Peeling can help reduce the size of holes left by acne.

Bare Minerals foundation covers everything beautifully and is good for any type of skin. It's all natural minerals feel so soft and light on your skin, you can even sleep in it. It's wonderful...I love it!
Reply:There is a product called Maderma that is specifically for scars. It appears to work, I've used it on my kids and I do think there was an improvement. With anything, nothing will work overnight. You will have to use is daily for a few months, but you should see an improvement. There are also vitamin products you can get through your dermatologist. Vitamin C is good for healing, you can take it in the pill form, too. This may help a bit while you do the Maderma treatment.
Reply:Neutrogena makes a mask that actually reduces the color of acne scars. I've been using it and I can see a difference. It's available at any local pharmacy, or online at and drugstore site.
Reply:If a small expense is no problem, please consult a dermatologist. He knows the right treatment. Your skin requires derma abrasion by a qualified person.

Reply:I believe Cocoa Butter (or similar Vitamin E products) helps reduce scarring. Also, introduce nuts/seeds into diet.

If you still have acne problem, I have an excellant cure for that:

Essentially, Pears, Pears and more Pears. Although, apples are equally as good if they don't make your teeth sensitve.

The trick is though: "to eat the pear as the last think before you go to bed, and followed by a glass of water". Do not eat anything afterwards, especially milk or sweet products.
Reply:There are many cheap and effective home remedies for acne. Tomato slices, turmeric, papaya juices and home made face packs will treat existing pimples and prevent further problems. More remedies at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/acne.html
Reply:First, you have to figure what kind of scars that you have because there are several different kinds of scars. Since you have holes in your skin, it sounds that you ice pick scars (one of the worst kind). The best way to get rid of those is through laser treatments or skin resurfacing techniques. They are expensive, but if you are willing to put up the money, they will increase your confidence and facial appearance.

Tanning black skin?

Hi, I'm a dark skinned African American (as seen in the picture), and I have horrible bra lines; the skin covered by my bra is about 3 shades lighter than the rest of my skin. Is tanning a safe way to even out these differences, should I only tan the lighter parts, how long do i stay in the sun, and how do I protect the skin that i don't want to tan, like my face? (I'm not doing anything drastic like a tanning bed)
Tanning black skin?
try makin ur face lighter it will kinda go wit the tan
Tanning black skin?
i dont think u should tan at all..

i have ablack friend and her cheast area and neck are really light and then her face is really dark..

either way your face is gonna get tanned

so i suggest dont tan.. also if you wear alotof low shirts.. it looks really weird..

Practice skin is there anything the same as it?

I HAD ASKED A QUESTION ABOUT ALTERNATIVES TO PRACTICE SKIN AND EVERYONE SAID PIG SKIN BUT IS THERE ANYTHING THE SAME AS PRACTICE SKIN, EG LATEX ETC
Practice skin is there anything the same as it?
Theres nothing wrong with a little pig skin, mate.
Practice skin is there anything the same as it?
really they best thing to use is pig skin

its cheap

its the sameish texture

and its same feel and density

stick with the pig skin and save money
Reply:I'll make it unanymous ...pig skin is the best. You can go to a local butcher shop and get it for next to nothing. I carries very similar characteristics as human skin...so much so that many medical schools use it to practice suturing. I would say if it's close enough for medical school...
Reply:What do you have against pig skin? As far as I know that's about the only thing artists use seeing as how it's the closest you can get.
Reply:Hi there,

The best thing that you can do is find a person that is prepared for you to work on them (a guinea pig if you like) then you get practise and the person gets tattooed for free, that's the way most studio's get the trainees to do. It's either that or they get them to do outline work for cover ups that a inexperienced tattoo artist has done and messed up.

Hope this helps

Trouble with skin complextion?

My face, lower arms and lower legs are light-medium brown but the rest of my body is light, I love brown coloured skin, So i thought just tanning in the sun should do the trick but I keep getting sunburnt even with sun lotion on and sun beds aren't cutting it my light skin won't go brown, I talked to a friend and he said if I want an even skin tone it would be safer to go lighter than darker by using some kinda cream that reduces the melanin in your skin or something like that... I don't care if I'm white or brown I just want an all over even colour but if I go in the sun I burn go red then back to the light colour I was before so thats a waste of time the only thing I have had suggested to me is making my brown bits lighter...

What do you think?

Reply:Stop trying to tan your skin. A tan is your body's defenses against something that is harming it. Plus it damages your skin, and will make you look older than you are (ie. more wrinkly). I agree with your friend. Just apply a good sunscreen (ie. one with zinc oxide) on your brown bits and they will fade with time.
Reply:Sounds like you have......A farmers tan! Twenty minutes each day exposed to sun (with sun screen, not tanning oil) and you're skin will be evened out in no time.
Reply:It is not just you...no one's skin is the same color everywhere on their body...parts that are exposed more have a deeper color...but if it is really worse than you described see a doctor just to be sure.

Good skin moisturizer?

whats a good skin moisturizer taht will not tan my skin but bring out my skin tone?

or is there one i can put on my legs to make them look smooth and silky?
Good skin moisturizer?
I vote for DOVE. Great for everyday use without making you look oily or dull. I love the feel of my skin after that!
Good skin moisturizer?
Arbonne has the best moisturizer around and it is made with herbs and botanicals - no harmful chemicals. They have a system for the face as well as the body
Reply:Just put some olive oil on a peace of cotton and rub it on your skin and wear long stocking to bed after doing so. Next day your legs will be smooth and sexy. It will last long too.
Reply:aveeno or dove....anything from one of those brandz....or neutrogena which is also great

Home skin care remedies?
I've tried all of these natural skin care remedies and they are awesome.

1. Squeeze the juice from an orange, then strain the pulp; using your fingers, pat the liquid on your face. The juice will evaporate quickly and leave you with a radiant glow. Plus you'll have the benefits of the antioxidant vitamin C.

2. Mash half a banana and rub it into patches of dry skin. Leave it on for 5 minutes, then rinse well. Your skin will be baby soft. BONUS: the potassium in the banana will help erase the dark circles under your eyes.

3. Snip off the foot section from an old pair of pantyhose and fill with one cup uncooked oatmeal. Now carefully tie the "oatmeal foot" to the faucet of your tub (you want the water to run through the oatmeal). Now fill the tub and soak away your dry, itchy skin.

4. Blend 2 cups crushed macadamia nuts with 2 sprigs fresh mint and a half-cup of honey. Mix into a paste and rub over your face to exfoliate dead skin. Rinse and pat dry. (Can be used on entire body as well.)

5. Mash a ripe mango with one tablespoon plain yogurt. Add 2 egg yolks and blend. Work the mix into your hair, then cover your head with a shower cap and leave in place 20 minutes. Shampoo thoroughly. It's the ultimate hair conditioner!

I have oily and rough skin, what could i use?

i had a smooth skin before with breakouts now and then.but now my face is always full of tiny pimple like bumps,i noticed this first when i started treating for a hormonal problem.now i have rough and oily skin, with uneven skin tone.i want to know which product will be good to use,and also which brand of makeup will do good for my skin.i don't really want to just hide it with makeup,i just want to know what will be good.and what will even the skin tone.

i have medium brown skin and iam 24yrs
I have oily and rough skin, what could i use?
Proactive is very good, I use it. I thought it was for people who had major zits but it's for small breakouts and for people who dont have acne but just want to take care of their skin. They also have other products that help with the excess oil. They also have makeup that helps with your skin. They do have product that help with the uneveness.

If you dont want to use their makeup you can use cover girl. Their foundation actually has noxzema in and it doesnt clog your pores.
I have oily and rough skin, what could i use?
I have that same problem. What usually works for me is to rub my face with a dry wash cloth before cleansing--it breaks up some of the skin cells which helps skin stay smoother. Then, after washing with an oil-reducing cleanser, I use baby lotion to lock in moisture. Avoid using harsh astringent-type products, which will make your condition worse. Overly-dried out skin often produces more sebum oil, which causes break-outs and oiliness throughout the day.
Reply:You can use a daily facial cleanser to help smooth out the bumps, and you can find alot of helpful products at drug stores and pharmacies.

OILY SKIN! Help!!!?

I have very oily skin and use loreal ideal balance fash wash and toner. I recently switched to that from st.ives for oily skin. It helps..but oil comes out 2 hours later. I wash morning and night and use oil blotting sheets throughout the dat. I also use bare minerals so its not my makeup, i've been this way for about 6 years. DOES ANYONE KNOW A GOOD FACE WASH OR PRODUCT THAT ACTUALLY WORKS FOR OILY SKIN to control oil? Its driving me insane...Thank you!!
OILY SKIN! Help!!!?
Mary Kay Oil Control Lotion and Mary Kay oil mattifier are both awesome products. Trust me, I have very oily skin and live in a very humid area. The oil control lotion balances your face and is used either instead of or on top of a moisturizer and works ALL day against oil. The oil mattifier can be put on before make-up or during the day over make-up. It dries your skin to a powdery finish as if you put powder on. Also, the cleanser for oily skin is really good. I think the best is to use all this together because it all starts with a good cleanser. Timewise 3-1 for oily/combo skin is my recommendation. There is a deep cleanser, but it is very strong. It is good for in the morning and use the timewise at night.

These products are worth a try, especially since if you don't like them or they don't work, they are 100% guaranteed and you can return them or exchange depending on the consultant.

Reply:neutrogena deep clean really lessened the oily-shine in my face. experts suggest that people with oily faces should only wash in the morning and at night. washing our faces often actually triggers the glands to produce more oil. it really takes time to say goodbye to oily face. but be patient...

Reply:Consult a Dermatorlogist, that is the best way to treat oily skin ,because it depdnds on your oil glands on your face, some poeple go surgery just to lessen the oillyness, trying different product wil do nothing good it can only worsten your problem.
Reply:I advice u 2 use rosemary oil.
Reply:I use the bar soap from Clinique...the strongest one. THen I use the mineral veil from bare minerals and that helps a TON!
Reply:It sounds like you have taken all the right steps to control the oil, but I wonder if you would be willing to try something else: cut out all sources of caffeine for two days. Some people are especially sensitive to caffeine and it can cause overproduction of oil. This is most likely to show up on your face, since your face has more oil glands per square inch than any other part of your body. Caffeine is in all kinds of foods, so you will have to pay close attention to what you consume. Not just coffee and tea, but many sodas (Coke, Diet Coke, root beer, Mountain Dew), all forms of chocolate, and even some medications (such as Excedrine). I'm not talking about cutting back; I am talking about cutting it out completely, for just two days. Again, you will need to pay close attention and read the Nutrition labels; you won't believe how many products contain caffeine. For most people, this is not a problem. But for someone who is already prone to having oily skin, it can be a major factor. I hope this helps. Good luck.

Tan/sunburn to even skin tone?

My skin tone on my back is uneven. Various reasons. Can I tan the hell out of it and maybe get minor sunburns now and then to destroy all the unevenness? Mention skin cancer if you want but do answer the question as well or I'll give you a thumbs down! I use salicylic acid but this seems to have limited effectiveness in evening the skin tone. Seems to have the same effect as sunburn--burn off the top layer of skin.

Also I'm a proactive person so I've grown tired of the waiting it out approach. Sure it might resolve on its own in a year or more--and even this is not certain--but meanwhile what do I do with my blasted uneven tone as it makes going shirtless unappealing! So I want to fix it up

Btw I have medium brown skin color. I tan easily and sunburn only after a while. I've not had many sunburns in my life, I can probably count them on one hand.

I would not recommend sunburn, but you can try using sunscreen on the already tan (or darker parts of your body) and use either nothing or tanning/accelerator lotion on the parts that you want to darken. Just be sure to use caution.
Tan/sunburn to even skin tone?
Try using Body Butter by Hawaiian Tropics. It has a slight bronzer in it. This does help to even out your skin tone.

Should 'skin cancer' be called 'hair folicle cancer' instead?

I'm wondering if people get 'skin graft cancer' and if not, why not? From what I know hair does not grow on a skin graft. Not sure why. So I am wondering if skin cancer is actually cancer of the hair folicle.
Should 'skin cancer' be called 'hair folicle cancer' instead?
no skin cancer has nothing at all to do with hair follicles infact if a mole is srouting hairs its very unlikly to be cancerous
Should 'skin cancer' be called 'hair folicle cancer' instead?
no, because hair can't get cancer. skin does.
Reply:No It Should Just Be Called Skin Cancer. That Could Be From Radaion Treatments.
Reply:The skin is comprised basically of 3 things:

1- Epidermis: The superficial part

2- Dermis: The inner most part, mostly comprised of connective tissue (collagen)

3- Appendages: Hair, follicles, sweat glands, vessels, nerves, etc.

Cancer is either an disorganized growth of cells or the proliferation of abnormal ones, or both of these things.

Dermal Cancers are very very rare or almost non-existant, due to the fact that where the mutation and profilition that ought to occur in order to have Cancer (CA) is no where to be found in the dermis or hair for that matter, which is the nucleus of the cell.

Neither the dermis nor hair have nucleated cells, thus no CA there.

The Epidermis has several layers:

- Stratum Corneum

- " Lucidum

- " Granulosum

- " Spinosum

- " Basalis

And within these layers are a group of cells called Melanocytes which produce a pigment called Melanin that gives the color to everyone's skin.

There are 3 main types of skin CA:

1- Melanoma: Most common cause of death from skin CA

2- Basal Cell CA: Most common overall

3- Squamous Cell CA

They are all related to skin exposure, and may have hereditary factors involved

Best skin lightening cream?

The skin under my underarms is considerably darker than the rest of mybody. I am a lighter skinned spanish/black person who burns easily in the sun. Are there any safe, affordable and effective creams to lighten the skin under my arms?
Best skin lightening cream?
avoid skin lightening cream with hydroquinone because they harm the skin in the long run.. try dermaline skin whitening cream and apply on the affected area...
Best skin lightening cream?
My guess is to exfoliate your underarm area with a gentle granular scrub and then apply some type of soothing product over it. Usually the skin darkens because it's been irritated. I've used Ambi, on the areas of my skin where there's hyperpigmentation and it worked quickly. A product with Alphahydroxy Acid may help also. I think that Dark Opal carries a product which contains both alphahydroxy acid and hydroquinone (the lightening ingredient in Ambi).
Reply:There is not such thing as "skin lightning" creams the only thing they do is brighten the skin and take away the tan and it probably wont work underarms but i would say scrubbing works other than that i wodnt suggest anything

Weird patch of dry skin on my hand?

I have this very weird, small patch of dry skin on my hand.

It's about 1/2"x1/2" and it doesn't hurt or itch or anything, it's just a dry, scaly, flaky patch of skin that's completely surrounded by healthy, normal skin.

I've tried using moisturizers on it, but it won't go away.

I even tried peeling the skin, but what happens is that for a while it appears like I don't have any of the fingerprint lines on the patch, then the scaly skin grows back.

I haven't tried any medicated creams. Can anyone recommend on, like hydrocortisone, etc.

Thanks.
Weird patch of dry skin on my hand?
Sounds kinda like eczema..I don't know how to treat it though, other than super heavy mosturizers
Weird patch of dry skin on my hand?
It sounds like eczema, which is very common. Some types go away within a few weeks, others it takes longer. It's a genetic problem and is not contagious or harmful. Doctor's often perscribe stronger versions of hydrocortisone to treat it. Try applying a hydrocortisone ointment. The creams dry the skin out even more, so be sure to use ointment.
Reply:I have something similar and I went to the dermatologist. I believe she used the term contact dermatitis and prescribed an ointment called "Fluocinonide". I have to use the ointment every day for 2-3 weeks to completely get rid of the patch. Then, out of nowhere, it comes back again in about a month and I have to start with the ointment again.

Uneven skin?

i have problem skin (unsmooth, bumpy) on one area of my face. (i don't touch my face). growing up, i had great skin but over 4 years now, i don't. the problem is very uneven skin, what seems like clogged pores. WHAT can i possibly do to get rid of this. somethign that actually works. I'm trying a glycolic peel and waiting for the results. help!!
Uneven skin?
yes glycolic peel is the best
Uneven skin?
Glycolic peels are a good place for you to start. However, you need to be sure that you are washing and moisturizing your face regularly. If you're already doing so, and you really want results, I suggest that you see a dermatologist. They can always provide you with the strongest, best and (usually) the quickest solution.
Reply:I think that the best way to solve this would be a good skin regime that works for you. If you don't already, it is really important to cleanse, tone and moisturise everyday with products which are designed for your skin type.

It's extremelly difficult to recommend anything specific as I don't know your skin type (dry, oily etc.) but I'd recommend popping down to Lush (I have had FANTASTIC results with skin care from there), speaking to a sales assistant and picking up a couple of bits. If your pores are clogged you need to exfoliate really well to smooth it down and clear everything out, so go for something a bit scrubby. Good luck with everything and if you need any advice then send me a message.
Reply:Using a quality skin care regimen will work great to give your skin more even appearance.

BeautiControl has a total skin wellness approach...MRP.

Maintenance, Repair and Prevention.

Maintenance consists of Cleanser, tonic, scrub, and moisturizer. (Skinlogics for 30 and under, Skinlogics Gold for 30+ skin, Skinlogics Platinum for 40+ skin, All Clear for acne prone skin, Skin Equations for sensitive skin.)

Repair consists of an exfoliator...a glycolic peel comes in here. You can also use a regeneration product that contains alpha/beta hydroxy acids, and Microderm Abrasion.

Prevention consists of a broad spectrum of spf 20 or more, and antioxidant protection (vitamin c).

Once you have all three steps you will have the most healthy radiant skin. And if you don't within 30 days...send your product back for a full refund. You skin takes 30-45 days to go through the renewal process. Please give any regimen at least that to work through it's magic.

Hope that helps!

Try using a face cleaner like sea breeze or something along those lines. It should dry your face out some. Always keep your face clean, and keep your hands off of it!
My skin is very very oily. What can I do to make my skin less oily? %26gt;_%26lt;?
Try soap and water. Duhhhhh
Reply:Move where it is cold, but ya wash it alot.
Reply:Make sure that you wash your face every morning and night. Also, if you use a moisturizer make sure its a very light one. You can also wash with Teraseptic or SpectroGel to help with the oils, and lastly keep tissue with you where ever you go... dab the oil off of your face a couple of times throughout the day.
Reply:You can use any medicated soaps. Also apply turmeric + sandal paste daily on face. Your face will look fresh and fair with less oil

Bad skin and foods to heal?

i used to suffer from acne, and other ad skin conditions although they have all gone now my skin is a little rough looking what foods in particular are good for a clear soft skin. are onions good?
Bad skin and foods to heal?
Nature has provided us with many natural foods which are good for various ailments of the body. I have selected the following foods which are extremely useful for a youthful well maintained skin. The skin should stay wrinkle free , without blemishes or acne , taut and full of vigor. To maintain and encourage your skin to stay youthful , the following foods are useful. They are normal everyday foods and you will be surprised how much they can benefit your skin.

Oranges contain vitamin C which is most essential to protect your skin from harmful ultraviolet rays . This Vitamin helps in preventing wrinkles by producing collagen in the skin. Eat one whole fruit ( not just juice) everyday, regularly for beneficial effects.

Sunflower seeds contain essential fatty acids which help skin secrete natural oils that lubricate it and prevent water loss. This helps keep skin soft and supple, improve hair texture and reduce blackhead formation . Take three teaspoons twice a week or use sunflower oil to cook your food in.

Reply:lots of 100% fruit juice and drink lots of water plus vitamin pills then add ur fancy ladys face creams
Reply:Drink lots of water, at least 2 litres (approx 8 glasses) a day. Eat lots of fruit and vegetables, and cut down on foods that contain lots of fat and sugar.
Reply:I use goats milk.

Keep away from dairy.

Onion

%26amp; garlic good, but take away the middle bit, it's too much.

Good night.
Reply:be sure that u r not using strong perfumed soaps or cleansers that u may possibly be allergic to, causing allergy rash's
Reply:fruit is good, or use vitamin e and c cream. strawberries are a good one to eat, they help the skin.
Reply:Increase your vitamin C and E and include more water in your diet. At least 8 glasses a day. Try oranges and decrease foods with sugar.
Reply:A good diet including plenty of fruit and vegetables, drinking plain water and not too many late nights. Try not to drink too much alcohol as it dehydrates the skin. dry skin as well as oily can give you spots. I dont have bad skin but not bad and rarely use soap on my face cos if i do i have to back it up with cream otherwise it feels dry and taut. Ps. i've heard jelly is good for your hair and nails.
Reply:foods rich in vitamin C and A.

Garlic, vitamin E creams.

It is best to take these in capsule form as you will guarantee that you get the nutrients for the skin.
Reply:Lots of vegetables, especially green ones and lots of water. Avocado is particularly good for skin. Also it's about what you don't eat. Sugar feeds skin bacteria so stay away from it as much as you can.

Combination skin?

I am a black woman and I have combination skin. My T zone is extremely oil and my cheeks are dry. I've been trying different products and nothing has really worked. I am currently using Proactiv and its helping my mild acne somewhat, but its drying my skin out. I got a facial and they used Aveda products and my skin really took to it....it was glowing. Aveda is real expensive so until I save enough $$$ to get it, are there any home remedies I can use to help?
Combination skin?
If you have combination skin, you have to use products specifically made for combination skin or use two different ones for your dry area and for your Tzone.

I would suggest that you stop the Proactive treatment for a while as this is causing your skin to dry up and it may get worse. The best care you can give your skin is to follow the 3step procedure.

1. Cleanse your skin with a cleansing milk and rinse off using a sponge and warm water ( this will help to open your pores and remove dirt).

2. Use a moistened cotton pad adn apply alcohol free toner ( Toner tightens the pores after cleansing).

3. Use an oil free moisturizer on your Tzone and a cream moisturizer on your dry areas.

I hope this helps you. I too have combination skin and am a beauty therapist as well. Good luck =)

I think your doctor is making excuses. I have used dermovate and betnovate for years and do not have any such problems!

Just use a good quality moisturiser (non perfumed) twice a day every day and it will start to look better in a week or so;

Sensetive skin...plz help...?

I have a sensitive skin. What are the products that i can use for a HEALTHY skin? Are Orange products good for sensitive skins? Any suggestions?
Sensetive skin...plz help...?
I have sensitive skin so the only soap i use is Dove. I usually use their unscented soap. Shampoo doesn't matter for me. I use hypoallergenic detergent, I forget what it's called, but it's for babies' clothes. I use a very lightly scented Snuggles fabric softner. As for deodorant/anti-perspirant, I only use the unscented kind. I'm thinking of using the crystal deodorant because I hear it's mild for the skin and very effective.
Sensetive skin...plz help...?
The detergent is called Purex. Report It

Reply:the best thing i have found so far is the St Ives Apricot Scrub now comes in a sensitive skin formula-- i love it!
Reply:Okay, Apricot products are good for soft, sensitive skin. If you can find something with Orange Peel as an exfoliate it works well, but it can be tough to find, and little pricey. As far as sunscreens go, Banana Boat is really good even if it's only SPF 8. I have sensitive skin also and I find that Avon doesn't mess up my skin.
Reply:I have sensitive skin, 2. All you do is use vasiline creme, and non-cheap sun-screens. I know, sensitive skin is a REAL pain!!!
Reply:My friend has sensitive exczema skin and she uses Aloette products (order from a rep), they are made with an aloe vera base.

Fair Skin/ Freckles : Tanning Bed Help*?

i have pale skin, and freckles, and i find it extremely hard to tan, im going to start going to the tanning bed, slowly but surely, i need to know what is the best way to get a tan:

-what lotion should i use with my skin?

-how long should i lay %26amp; how long on each side?

-how many days a week

(two girls at my school who were worse off than me, pale-dark heavy freckles-red hair are really dark now thanks to the tanning bed, and they tan easily now)

any help would be appreciated, and please know before you post i am aware of skin cancer and etc.// bronzers %26amp; spray tans are not options because they streak me easily.
Fair Skin/ Freckles : Tanning Bed Help*?
If you are gonna tan, you need to build a base tan first which is the process of building up your tolerance to sun-burns and to help keep your tan longer. Tanning salons have a variety of lotions. Ask which is best for you. Your first tanning sessions should be short (5 minutes) to prevent sun-burn. Little by little increase the amount of time. Gradually you'll build a base tan. Go like once a week. Good luck. =)
Fair Skin/ Freckles : Tanning Bed Help*?
WHOA! stop stop stop, go with what you were givin, red hair and freckles can be extremely sexy if you tan in a bed it will clash(red hair, orange skin), just find a guy who loves you for the beauty that you are. no one else is worth it.

orange skin is FAKE!
Reply:Avoid the tanning booth with having fair skin.. you will increase the risk of skin cancer. Honestly .. you will find as you get older there are a lot of advantages of being fair skin and one especially is that you always look younger then you are. Being fair skin is a blessing and freckles can be adorable.

Not a huge tanning bed business there. Look at the girl in the mirror and get happy with her as she is. That will make everything else you do so much easier.

Dry skin on face?

so i have never been good with dry skin.... i have it under my lips like between my lips and chin and then under my nose.... i tried moisturizers, not using certain soaps, tried not using soaps, and i cant get rid of the dry skin, does anyone have any suggestions? cause id be a pretty nice looking stud girls say if it wasnt for the dry skin :P
Dry skin on face?
zinc can be good but you must be careful toonly take the usrda...you need it in your diet, but like most things if you get toomuch it can be bad for you
Dry skin on face?
try washing your face with less hot water-more like luke warm if you can. The hot water seems to zap the moisturizer right out. I would still recommend using a moisturizer and a soap that is less harsh on your skin. Also try drinking more water during the day. This can make a huge difference!

Good luck!
Reply:See a dermatologist and see what they have to say. I don't really know are sure you are rinsing all the soap off when you wash your face? Umm I use this soap call cetaphil or something. Maybe you just shouldn't wash your face in those areas where you get dry skin. Also don't be too hard on your skin. Don't rub a wash cloth or something unless you do it gently.

Dry skin, smooth skin?

i am guessing i have dry skin, it is not itchy or raw or anything but it is not smooth, like it has goosebumps all the time, i have recently been using Eucerine +intensive theropy cream and Vasalene intensive care cocoa butter cream, and it has helped a lot but the skin is still a little bumpy, i am thinking of trying a body butter or soemthing but dont know which are the best ingredients or products to look for!

Please help i am lost in a world of almond oil, olive oil, shea, milk, honey, aloe, salt products....ect, ect!!!
Dry skin, smooth skin?
Shelly,

Check the back of those creams. Do they contain any mineral oil? If so chuck them. Use pure and natural products only.

Petroleum, baby oils (mineral oils) harden skin and over time it's not healthy for you or skin period.

Stick to pure and natural products. Also try a very good sea salt scrub. You can get dead skin away yet absorb really great oils - and have "fresh" skin.

I suggest Arbonne products (From the soap to the creams to the sea salts)

if it's to much $.. look for natural items and then make your own sea salt (olive oil (lite) and kosher salt and brown sugar) doesn't smell the same as awaken but it has the same effect.
Dry skin, smooth skin?
I have super dry skin too. Nivea Smooth Sensations came out not too long ago and it is the first lotion I have found (and I have tried hundreds including fancy-expensive ones) thatactually works.
Reply:I do not have dry skin, but it sounds like you may want to exfoliate also.
Reply:You may have Keratosis Pilaris, a harmless, unfortunately incurable skin condition, it affects at least 1 in 3 people.

I recently self-diagnosed myself with it. If you think you do have it, there are things that can help, but you need to keep using them repetitively for them to stay away.

Guys can see that.. just flaunt the color of ur skin, talk about about how much you love it. Dnt let anyone put u down because of it. Dark skin is beautiful, remember that.

Is dark skin ugly?
Hi

There are several people that have a dark complexion and they are beautiful. The people you are around are ignorant and immature, and just because someone is lighter than you, it doesn't mean they are better than you. You should be proud of your complexion, and do not allow anyone to make you feel bad for who you are. Ignore them, and someone will love you for who you are, and they will not mind how dark you are. God bless.
Reply:Dark skin is beautiful and you should be proud of it. Don't listen to people who put you down we all have something about us that people make fun of but what you feel is your worst feature you have to make it your best feature and one day you will find someone who will love you for you.
Reply:dark skin is absolutely gorgeous in fact I think it's prettier than lighter-coloured dark skin... but ur classmates' comments are SO rude

Foundation probs! Skin looks all crumbly =S?

I have oily skin. Even though the skin between my eyebrows is oily, it seems to apear flakey or crumbly when foundation is applied.

I use a daily scrub by biore which is great, I use olay complete care moisturiser, and I use 'simple' face wash in the night.

My skin seems in great condition until I use my foundation (I only use foundation to try and cover redness in my skin. )

I am using benefits playstix in 'jax'

I get to work ( i work in a shop, right next to a door with a draughty breeze) and i have to put up with a dodgy heating system.

By the end of the day the foundation just looks all flakey all over my face and

Does anyone have these probs and can someone please tell me the solution.

Try using a neutraliser, I use a green stick which covers the redness nicely.
Reply:i have oily skin.

it sounds mad but i find using an oil free moisteriser straight before i apply the foundation stops it looking crumbly.

i also use maybelliene dream matte mousse.

u need a light foundation or it will make your skin worse.

boots also do a green base to put on before foundation. it goes on clear but the green keeps the redness at bay.
Reply:try tinted moisturizer or just make it yourself (add a little lotion to the foundation)
Reply:Don't put foundation all over your face, just on the areas that need it (usually cheeks, nose and chin.)
Reply:I don't know if this will help but lately i have been putting foundation on with a foundation brush

and it really makes a difference the foundation goes on really smooth and doesn`t cake ,hope this helps
Reply:i used to have this problem.. i switched to proactive and all the skin discoloration went away. so i stopped using it. my boy friend hates it.. in fact most guys find it repulsive.. but if you still wanna use foundation keep your face moist and apply dream matte muse and it should stop it.. it did mine right away.. but the reason why your skin does it is because you have combination skin. and the foundation flakes over as the oil in your skin Sucreats
Reply:i think you would be better to use a tinted moisturiser, it is a lot lighter and not so heavy, if you like benefit then try their one called you rebel i swear by it, one colour suits all
Reply:Try a different foundation. I've used Clinque for 6 years and I absolutely love it. They will help you find a foundation that perfeclty goes with your complection and skin type.
Reply:when youput make up on mix it in with a wet sponge thing..you know those triangular things...put on the foundation and then whipe over it withthe moistness..it helps
Reply:apply a primer before your foundation. I just bought one yesterday its called Lumene Face Makeup Base...it goes on velvety smooth, you cant feel a thing. I applied my foundation. I have oily skin too and was skeptical about this but I blotted about 3 times today and I swear that VERY little oil absorbed on my tissue. This coming from someone who blots and can squeeze the tissue on a frying pan and cook an egg...this stuff totally made my day...u can find it at and CVS store..its about $10 per tube...
Reply:hi. i have oily skin to. you need to make sure that you cleanse and tone your face with products that are specifically for oily skin (i use the clarins cleanser and toner for combination skin....they are great). Before you apply your make-up you should use a primer. if you are in the UK then No.7 at boots do a good one that is quite cheap as well (make sure its the oil free one). This will help your make-up to stay on for longer and gives it a much smoother look. Also make sure that the foundation you are using doesn't contain oil.

I would also suggest that you buy a face peel. This works in a similar way to an exfoliater but i find that it is much better for my skin and totally unblocks my pores.

Remove your make-up as soon as you get home for work if you do not plan on leaving the house again.....this allows your skin to breathe.

I used to have the same problem as you with my eyebrows.....try applying vaseline over them (not to much as this will leave them greasy) over night....make sure you rub it in and this will solve that problem.

Hope this helps :)
Reply:Using a base makes it easier to apply your normal foundation and hides any redness, blemishes or spots you may have.

First of all exfoliate your face once or twice a week to get rid of the dead skin cells. On the other days use a face wash or a moisturising soap to stop your skin from drying out. If you have dry skin on your face the foundation will not reach its maximum potential.

Make sure you buy the correct base and foundation to match your skin tone. A good foundation will blend into your jaw line.

First of all apply a skin moisturiser as this will make it easier to rub your base foundation in. Next apply your main foundation and add a light blusher to the apples of your cheeks. Smiling when you do this will make it easier.

Hope this helps!
Reply:Try No7 base foundation. Also a good moisturiser such as No7 advance day cream.

Hope that helps.
Reply:It doesn't matter if your skin type is oily or dry, you have to MOISTURISE properly before applying any make up, otherwise it will either go patchy or just flake off. Use an oil free moisturiser. That olay stuff isn't really much cop.

No make up looks good on unmoisturised skin.
Reply:Just dont use foundation. It clogs up your pores and is a big waste of money. Unless you have bad scarring let the world see you as beautiful as you are. Lipstick eyliner and lipliner is my makeup bag and I get told im gorgous, stunning etc etc.

Whys my skin so urgh!?

so recently i started using Garnier pure A moisturiser on my skin to help keep my skin clear. an on the recommendations of some ppl i started using a toner as well. before my skin was spotty but not like major, now it just seems to be gettin a bit worse. is this just my skin adjusting or what? will it get better?
Whys my skin so urgh!?
I think the toner you are using must be too harsh for your skin... I would cut it out for a week and see if it gets better... it could also be do to the fact that all this treatment is stripping the natural oils from your skin thus unbalancing it and in your case this could be causing over production of oil because your skin is trying to makeup for the lost oils which makes skin much oilier and more breakout prone! remember to use an oil free moisturizer after every time you wash or use a toner on your face... I think you should be okay good luck
Whys my skin so urgh!?
Ok i also started using the ganier pure line and it made my skin worse. I guess it just doesn't agree with my skin. It depends sometimes you have to let things get worse before it gets better, but this ganier stuff did not make my skin get better. The toner made me break out more. the face wash make my skin feel fresh but still no good. Try Clinque porducts, it works well to.
Reply:Whitch Hazel helps alot...it clears your skin of blemishes and overall smooths your skin. I always feel lots cleaner and my skin always feels smooth after using it. Also there's Ponds..it smooths skin nicely..I have some of that now and it really helps to make your skin feel soft and clean.
Reply:have you ever just left your skin not put any products on at all?

i had really bad skin in my teens and and used every product under the sun and one day i was sick to death of moisturising, toaning cleansing exfoliating my skin that i jsut gave it all in. I just take my make-up off i use LUSh ' Ultra Bland' its great take all your makeup off and leaves your skin super smooth.

sometimes less is more when it comes to skin products let your skin breath a bit
Reply:I really to recommend Dermalogica. I used Clinique products but since using Dermalogica I can see better results and even my mates have noticed the difference!

Make sure you get a consultation first though from your local dermatologist by a local beauty salon you can find on their website! x

Dog Skin Pigment?

Hi!

My dog's skin pigment changed recently. It was just regualr skin color, but now it had Black/brown blotches on it. Her skin looked like this when she was a puppy. Is this nornal? It changed on her belly, thighs and legs. I don't know if it is anywhere elce. Is this something that happens as the season changes?

I'm really worried about her. Thanks!
Dog Skin Pigment?
if it was like this when she was a puppy and she had nothing wrong with her then. chances are that there is nothing wrong now
Dog Skin Pigment?
Has she been licking those areas a lot? Excessive licking can cause discoloration of the skin and common areas are the belly, thighs, and legs. My dog had this happen on her belly and her excessive licking was caused by her allergies which in turn caused a skin infection making her lick even more. Have your vet check the areas for any type of bacterial infection and they can prescribe an antibiotic. Once the licking stops her skin should return to its normal pigment.
Reply:Just sun spots probably!

I NEED HELP for skin treatments for acne scarring FAST!!?
neutrogena works for all type of skins, really the color doesn't matter just apply that and on top some make up to cover it.
I NEED HELP for skin treatments for acne scarring FAST!!?
First,

Wash your face with Clearisil. Wet your face down very good and put some on and rub gently for 30 seconds. Rinse well. This cleans deep fast, and cleans better soap. Also, you wont get breakouts, dry skin, or cracky skin after use like other products or face wash.

Second,

After drying your face put Clinque dramatically different lotion on your face. One squirt goes a long way. This helps prevent breakouts, dry skin, or cracky skin. It also makes your skin smooth.

Third,

Before bed put On-The-Spot from Neutrogena on your breakouts. This will make them go away the next day.

You'll start seeing results in at least 2 days

Reply:Hey there !

I began suffering from adult acne due to stress and tried several creams rx from the dermatologist, different antibiotics and the final step before having to try Accutane was taking Ortho-tri-Cyclen birthcontroll pills...which are also used for the treatment of acne...this worked greatly and I saw results in about 3 weeks to a month. Hope this helps...
Reply:Include green, leafy vegetables and fruits in your diet. Drink a lot of water to to regularly to flush out toxins, and don't forget to drink a glass before breakfast to flush out the stomach. Avoid deep-fried snacks

Lemon juice is effective in lightening the dark spots left by acne and pimples.

First, cleanse the scarred area with water. Soak up a teaspoon of lemon juice with a cotton ball and smooth it over the marks. Leave the juice in place for ten minutes, then rinse.

Be careful how often you use lemon juice: it can have the side effect of making your skin light sensitive. Make sure to cover treated areas with sunscreen before going outdoors.

Vitamin E

Try applying vitamin E to the scarred area three to four times daily to help reduce its visibility. If you keep at it, you should see some results after one to two weeks. It takes a long time before you get really noticeable effects.

Honey and pearl

A useful facial pack for acne is honey and pearl powder.

Apply a mask of it for 15 minutes. If you can keep doing it every week, your skin will become lighter and smoother.

Tea tree oil

Some medications made from natural ingredients, such as rosehip seed oil and tea tree oil, will not only help to heal scars, but also significantly work to prevent future scarring.

Leeks

Peel the membrane from white are of the leek while watching TV or resting. Place a peeling over scarred areas for ten minutes every day. You can secure it with a bandage to keep it from falling off. Keep this up for a few weeks and you'll see the color fade away

Ginger

After cleaning your skin, cut a few slices of fresh ginger and apply to the affected area for 20 minutes. You'd better do this laying down, otherwise the ginger may fall off. It might burn a little, but probably not too much. The ginger may leave behind a bit of redness after you removeit, but don't be too worried. Just wipe off and have a good rest. In the morning, the scar should become smooth, and will hopefully fade completely within two weeks.

Aloe Vera Plant

cut off a piece and squeeze the goopy gel inside and apply to skin.It lightens and fades scars while fighting and preventing acne.Apply before bed let dry[2-3 min tops]and sleep with it on soft glowing skin in the morning.

ASK YOURSELF THESE QUESTIONS WHAT MAKES YOU HAVE DARK EYE RINGS

Iron Deficiency %26amp; Dark eye rings

Is it possible that your iron intake is insufficient or low? How can we determine this? What are the natural ways to increase iron uptake in our bodies for overall health as well as diminishing unsightly dark circles under the eyes you ask?

Natural hereditary %26amp; genetics in dark circles

Hereditary and genetics can also play a big role in the development and dominance of dark under eye circles for many people. With such things as thinner or fairer skin, pigmentation tendencies, allergies, or bone structure being possibly linked to your family genes.

There is very little we can do about this natural tendency of our family hereditary to have dark bags or shadows under our eyes (we can yell at our parents perhaps, stressing and making them worse, but get the point your unsatisfied with the genes they gave us!) and in many cases simple home remedies or products won鈥檛 go to far in helping us to remove or get rid of our dark bags.

If you suspect that your family is to blame for those glorious raccoon eyes, after you鈥檙e done giving them a piece of your mind for oh so brilliantly passing the trait onto you, you can check out some good techniques for hiding dark circles, preventing even worse appearance of them, effect products and in more extreme cases; surgeries and procedures here on DarkCirclesPuffyEyes.com.

About iron and its dark circle role

A deficiency in iron is one of the more common causes of unexplainable dark circles for many people, and the awesome news about this is the fix is quite simple in that if we intake and support better iron uptake into our blood system, we should see a diminishing or getting rid of dark circles quite quickly and painlessly.

Low iron levels is the most common form of anemia, and results in poor oxygenation body tissues due to lessened blood oxygenating efficiency. Unfortunately for us, one of the areas this shows most of all is under the eyes where vessels tend to clot and pool, thus causing the darkening and eye circle effect we are on this site to try and fight.

Sinus %26amp; Nasal problems associated with dark bags

Posted under: Causes %26amp; Treatment

Nasal inflammation and sinus congestion can cause a more serious effect known as venous congestion, which is interfering with the return path of blood to the heart after it has been pumped out. This low pressure system due to congestion is a serious effect which slows down and impairs the bloods flow through our body, trapping it as it attempts to flow through the tiny vessels found in our facial area. The blood may pool in this area and shows through the skin where the blood vessels build up, usually near our eyes causing a purplish like circle!!

If you area aware of, or are suspecting of having sinus or nasal congestion relating, proper treatment of these problems in many people will help in the appearance of dark circles around our eyes (with many seeing complete reversal)

If you suffer from regular and not so easily explained headaches as well as regular dark circle appearance, this may be another precursor and warning sign that you have sinus-related problems, and you should seek expert medical advice as soon as possible. Proper identification and treatment of sinus issues will go along way in making you feel better and healthier, and for most will aid greatly in the diminishing the dark under eye shadow appearance.

HERE IS A STORY CONTAINING A CURE

Any teenage girl would be upset to find out that her raccoon eyes were hereditary, and my baby sister was no exception. As if by magic, or some strange evil curse, she woke up one morning with our family's famous dark eye circles. Its particularly noticeable in the women, and my mother and grandmother have been masking it for years. Yes maybe it is a function of poor diet, and yes maybe it is lack of exercise. Who knows? But neither my Dad or my Mother was too interested in spending HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS buying clinque-this and oil-of-that to appease my sister's vanity. They weren't going to raise another cosmetic product junkey and so no matter how hard she cried, they wouldn't cave.

Of course, my Grandpa couldn't stand to see his only granddaughter upset about anything. . .

The old man went off to his laboratory where he concocted a miracle paste. He poured one tablespoon of tomato juice into a shot glass, and added a half tablespoon of lemon juice and a teaspoon of turmeric powder. What is turmeric powder you ask? It's an Indian spice. India produces 100% of the world's supply and consumes 80%. Anyway Grandpa thickened the paste by adding bleached white flour until the sauce achieved a sticky consistency.

Grandpa made my sister lie down on the sofa and close her eyes she had to keep her eyes shut no matter what. Then Grandpa insisted that she keep perfectly still while he painted her face and eyes with his potent mixture.

My sister was made to lie perfectly still and only take deep breathes for ten or fifteen minutes... until she could stand it no longer. When she washed off the smelly red paste we simply couldn't believe the difference. I wish I had taken pictures, it was

remarkable. The dark circles were gone.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:

Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water %26amp; stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath %26amp; let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off. Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K %26amp; Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

Dry skin??

My skin always seems and feels so dry and skin coming off even I put on lotions and other things. Which is the best and fastest way to make my skin smoother and not dry?
Dry skin??
Looking for the best and fastest way to make skin smoother and not dry? Then it is worth knowing that DRY SKIN problems respond well to self-care measures, such as using moisturizers and avoiding long, hot showers and baths. If you have very dry and scaly skin, your doctor may recommend you use an all-natural cream that contains natural oils that gives soothing and glowing results.

In a more serious skin disease, such as ichthyosis or psoriasis, your doctor may prescribe prescription creams and ointments or other treatments in addition to home care.

Dry skin leads to dermatitis, which causes red, itchy skin. In these cases, treatment may include lotions with natural-oil ingredients. If your skin cracks open, your doctor may prescribe wet dressings with mildly astringent properties to contract your skin and reduce secretions and prevent infection.

I believe http://www.skinsosilky.com/ will help you best for more advices, ideas and best treatments for any skin problem like dry skin.
Dry skin??
simply putting cream on your face doesn't stop it being dry, in fact your skin requires water not on the inside but on he outside try creaming your face while wet this helps to hydrate it
Reply:Have you given intense-moisturizing moisturizer a shot? If this still fails, I suggest you consult a dermatologist.

It is also possible that you have skin asthma. Because "so dry and skin coming off" is one of the symptoms.
Reply:Hi, My skin was like that too! Here are the products I used that seem to help:

() Nivea Visage Gentle Cleansing creme wash(daily)

() Clean and Clear Fizzing Cleanser(daily)

() Nivea Visage Gentle Exfoliating scrub (use once or twice a week)

() Clean and Clear Skin balancing moisturiser (daily)

These products made my skin feel ALOT cleaner and they felt softer too.I washed my fash thoroughly with water, put creams on, washed off, masaging the water into my skin and patted dry with a towel. The texture of my skin changed pretty much just after I washed my skin with these products. Do this for a few weeks. If yout problem persists consult a dermotologist and he/she should prescribe you some effective cream.

Good luck.

Hope this has helped.
Reply:The classic nivea creme (in round blue can) is really good for all over body moisture. It has a thick consistency that is why you don't have to put a lot. Many people tried it, and that includes me; we can all tell you that it's the best moisturizing creme!
Reply:Make sure that you are drinking plenty of water. This does affect the condition of your skin.
Reply:Let me tell u a home remedy that works:

mash up around 6-7 strawberries and leave it on your face 4 atleast 25 minutes..then,mash up kiwis and guavas 2gether(how much you want) and leave it on for 25 minutes..

gud luck..
Reply:Salt scrubs are really helpful for super dry skin. They are made with sea salt and oil, and you rub (gently) on your skin while in the shower, leave on for a couple of minutes, and then rinse (don't soap afterward), and pat dry. The salt exfoliates your skin, which allows the oil to sink in...lots of them on the market and in just about any drug store these days. You could also try buyinig some massage oil and mixing it with a good lotion (like Nivea, Lubriderm, Cetaphil). Just get massage oil and lotion that have pump dispensers, and pump an equal amount of each into your hands, rub your hands together to mix, and then apply to the areas of dry skin. Good Luck!
Reply:It depends on the quality of lotion you are using.

Even though Gold Bond Moisturizing sounds like old people stuff, It works SO WELL! Im 24 and I use it.....

I work in a hospital and Im always washing my hands so they are really dry. The gold bond makes them not be dry and they dont crack....most of the people I work with use it also.
Reply:i have a great fix for you, befor you dry off when getting out of the shower rub your skin with baby oil( johnsons) and then dry off it is the best

Reply:Other than common winter dry skin which will usually respond to any good topical moisturizer, dry skin is usually due to metabolic issues. It could be an under active thyroid but the most common reason in the western world is a fatty acid imbalance. Basically only a small percentage of us get enough Omega 3 in our diets compared to the other fatty acids. One of the top indicators of a lack of Omega 3 is dry skin and hair. Omega 3 rich foods and or supplements such as cold water fish or fish oil, flaxseed or flaxseed oil, walnuts, etc., can make a huge difference in your skin. Fluid intake is essential. Your body can't can't replace the moisture that evaporates from your skin if your body doesn't have enough available fluids. I don't know how old you are, but the older we get the less efficient our sebaceous glands are at replacing oil and moisture in our skin which means all metabolic or dietary issues show up more quickly than when we were younger. There are lots of great tips at the dry skin website listed.
Reply:Moisture, moisturize, moisturize! this is the way to beat dry skin. use an all natural skin care moisturizer, this can be safe and effective to protect the skin from moisture robbers like dry air, humidity and other factors that can cause skin damage.

there are many things simple things to do to have clear and healthy skin, one is to drink plenty of water, this can keep the skin hydrated, likewise, eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables.

have healthy habits and avoid bad habits such as smoking and too much alcohol drinking, this can make the skin dry. enough rest. sleep and good program of exercise can help make the skin look at its best.

Reply:Nutritional status, stress levels, climate and season all play a role in the quality of a person's skin. In order to improve your skin, you need to consider and address all these different aspects, for simply rubbing on moisturizers is unlikely to provide you with the benefit you are seeking.

From a nutritional standpoint, you need to ensure that you are

receiving adequate nourishment which includes essential vitamins and minerals. It also means eliminating substances that are not adding any substantial nutritional value.

For two weeks, make certain that you are receiving plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grains in your diet while avoiding alcohol, tobacco, caffeine, and other recreational drugs.

Throughout the day, drink abundant fluids in the form of fresh fruit and vegetable juices. Prepare yourself some ginger and licorice tea by adding one teaspoon of each to a pint of hot water and sipping it throughout the day.

Make certain that you are receiving adequate oil in your diet to include vegetarian sources of both omega-6 and omega-3. Saut茅 your vegetables in sesame or olive oil and try adding some flaxseed oil on a daily basis. Try adding some ghee (clarified butter) to your diet to help your skin.
Reply:You should try a serious moisturizing cream. I would recommend Vanicream, and its sold at Walgreens. Its a little expensive, but I've never used a better moisturizer. Its so 'pure', in that it has no alcohol, no fragrances, none of that filler stuff you'll find in most creams like Nivea, or Aveeno, or Olay, etc. Plus, its made for people with sensitive skin, and it sounds like it would be the thing for you.
Reply:I personally have dry and flaky skin, i have tried many things over the years but thus far i have to attribute some of my success in maintaining this beast to

1. Stress has a lot to do with your skin condition and nervous ticks such as scratching. (especially in the case of eczema)

2. Change your diet, fill it with fruits and vergetables with lots of water

3. Drink lots of water

4. Sugar Scrubs at least twice a week (its much more gentle than the salt scrubs). It helps sluff off some your flakiness and replenishes the skin with much needed oil (after the scrub i rarely ever have to reapply oil after the shower). My new thing is to apply the sugar scrub with an exfoliant glove, it actually seems to work better.

5.Patting my self dry with the damp wash cloth from head to toe after every bath or shower (it not only helps with your skin but also the big puddle of water most people leave onthe floor)

6. I mix a combination of Eucerin cream and Palmers Coco Butter (in the jar) and apply it to the skin. Eucerin cream is great alone but it's so thick that sometimes unless you warm i up in your hands it can't be applied well, the coco butter adds moisture and also allows the Eucerin to be easily applied.

I still have the alligator look even when my skin is moisturized and that's the problem i'm looking to resolve.

good luck
Reply:I have dry skin as well, and my skin is bad on especially in winter! I get dry little spots on the corners of my mouth and I really hate it. The moisturizers I've tried usually just solve the problem for a while then my skin is dry again. I tried this product call Dermagenics -- I found it online and I've been using it for a few months. It really has made my skin soft and smooth. Dermagenics actually uses the same ingredients used in Botox and it doesn't have harmful ingredients like glycolic acid and alphahydroxys. I think they have a 60% off sale for the holidays. I"ve been using it everyday and I"m not going back to other moisturizers. Get more info at http://www.dermagenics.biz

I hope this helps you! Good luck!
