I need facial stuff and skin care tips?

I'd ask in Skin/Body, but no one will answer, since I never answer there.

So, I started school a few weeks ago, and my skin has really turned bad because I've been so stressed out and I haven't had time or energy to do any good skin care, and I need some major face stuff and stuff for skin in general. Help, anyone?

I just need a small list of some cleansers, masks, scrubs, toners, and moisterizers/lotions for sensitive skin. I've heard that the St. Ives stuff works well. Your opinion? I don't need a huge list. Also, what are some good skin care tips that don't involve too much.

Thank you. :-)
I need facial stuff and skin care tips?
St. Ives really does work.

Neutrogena, I believe? has an oil-free moisturizer. The "top" of mine is orange, if that helps.

I don't use much apart from those two.

EDIT: Clean %26amp; Clear products are a hit or miss, or at least to me.

One of their products is great when my face is really oily, but otherwise, it's too harsh %26amp; removes too much.

The only one I trust no matter what is the pimple cream thing. I can't think of the name. It comes in a small tube %26amp; is usually about 5 bucks.

You didn't name this, but oil strips/oil-blotting strips, which I believe are by Clean %26amp; Clear too, are great for during the schoolday. It removes excess oil without smudging anything.

RetinA micro gel. but you need a prescription. But it's sooo worth it
Reply:St. Ives works very well!

i love it!

ooo and clean %26amp; clear works really well also

good luck

for face mask queen helene mint julep masque is really good

good luck! =)

鈾?br>Reply:Apricot scrub (st. ives), foaming facial cleanser(mix the cleanser and the scrub in your hand and wash your face well with it), astringent, and a good OIL FREE moisturizer( all from clean and clear). I use this combo and my skin is nearly flawless.
Reply:I use Neutrogena products. They are a blessing for my skin. I love anything by them because it works splendid. They sell cleansers, scrubs, concealer, makeup, moisterizers/lotions, etc (everything). My mom has sensitive skin and she can only use Neutrogena.

St. Ives is not bad at all. I happen to use their Apricot scrub that works great.

Clearasil is not a bad name, but it doesnt work as well as Neutrogena.
Reply:well, your options for skin care really depends on how much your willing to spend. Ive used soe skin care stuff from avon and it was pretty good [i used it when i was about 11], my breakouts got a little worse with the more stress middle school piled on me so i started using proactive, now that im in my freshman year of high school my mom started selling mary-kay. its a bit expensive but works pretty well. Also, another good tip is when your washing moisturizing and so on rub in circles and upwards not down and in lines because that will cause you to shove dirt into your pores instead of getting it all out and getting all of your make up off. i hope this helps you and may god bless.

Reply:Save St. Ives for the body not the face. St. Ives is a shell of a nut that is rigid, rough and very long term damaging to the skin. A good exfoliant should be rounded and smooth. Professional products are the best of course. You being a teenager can't afford these products. Try using dove's creme exfoliant for the face. Origins has wonderful products made with white tea. Burts bee's is wonderful as well. There products are all natural. I like there creme cleanser. It tingles the skin leaving it fresh and bright. Talk your parents into letting you get a professional facial from a salon or spa. I'm an esthetician and have worked on teenagers before. You will love it I gurantee!
Reply:For pimples breakouts and good skin in general proactive (little spendy for me round 50 for starter kit thing) They have stuff for sensitive skin. They also have masks and scrubs and whatnot. Reduces/clears breakouts and just improves over all skin look. Hope that helps
Reply:1) Benzoyl peroxide products like Oxy 10 Face Wash or Panoxyl Bar (kills bacteria %26amp; best for oily skin)

OR

2) Salicylic face wash like Aveeno Positively Clear Daily Cleansing Pads (clears away old skin cells; a little easier on the skin than bp)

3) Neutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask has clay %26amp; bp. Best used as a mask. (once or twice a week)

Reply:I use various Lush products, which I absolutely love. But if you don't have a store near you, I would suggest trying products from Aveeno. I also have sensitive skin and these products worked amazingly well for me. It really all depends on you though. What works for one, may not for another.

However, I can suggest the Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask. I use this stuff three times a week and it's definitely made a difference in my skin. In fact, I have it on right now. My face feels cleaner, tighter, and smoother from the minute I wash it off.

Sorry if my suggestions were too vague. I can definitely give you a few skin care tips though: Don't be lazy when it comes to your skin. Find a simple, but effective routine and stick to it. Cleanse, tone, spot treatment (if needed), and moisturize. Masks and exfoliants shouldn't be used everyday, but they're definitely an important part of keeping your skin clear. I exfoliate as well as use a mask, three times a week. Drink plenty of water, make sure you're getting at least your eight glasses a day. Sleep is important as well. Don't touch, pick, or rub your face during the day. Your hands are full of bacteria, don't spread it to your face. Well, I think I covered the basics.

Hope this helped a bit!
Reply:My personal favorite is to take a bath everyday cause it exfoliates your dead skin cells. Other great ways are to use Vaseline and Aveda Botanical Kinetics Hydrating Lotion everywhere EVERY NIGHT!! It really works after a couple of days!!

:)

Help!!! I !#$@$# Hate my skin!?

I have the worst skin it the world. Its awful. My skin used to be clear when i was 13 -15. Now im breaking out alot! I mostly have it on my forehead and sides on my head. I have little tiny bumb on my forehead near my eyebrowns, where the unibrown part grows and i break out alot like once every two days. I so tired of this. I tried Clinque but it doesnt do anything and it makes me mad! I spent like 70 $ on it. I used to have dry skin but now i have a little oily, like it will get oily in the middle of the day. I have so many pimple scars and red bumbs everywhere, i use my bangs to cover it when i go out. I care alot about my skin and having acne on it makes scream and i get angry alot. i think its because of stress but i dont know. I need help fast tommorows school and i need to buy something that will help. Im so sick and tired of my skin. Please help me? Do you know any methods? Or products? Please and Thank you!
Help!!! I !#$@$# Hate my skin!?
Me too. I break out at the worst times possible.!!! I think you would really like Proactive or Murad. I use the Murad System but it's kinda pricey. I also have a facial once a month and try to stick to it. Believe me no matter what I eat or drink or how much I relax, or don't get any sleep, my skin still has break outs and pisses me off, but these products help me so much to reduce the amount and duration. My facial tech does a mild fruit peel and a full oil free facial for me, and I love it and her, for 35.00. It is so worth it. try either of these systems and I bet you will not regret it. I tried Clinique and various others too but the only thing they cleared for me was my cash out of my purse!
Help!!! I !#$@$# Hate my skin!?
i break out really bad 2, and i always wanted 2 buy all the acne products and things for acne, but then i tried just using a regular gentle cleaner and moisturizer... i bought neutrogens fresh foaming face cleanser.. and st ives collagen elastin moisturizer.. and ive yet 2 find a day moisturizer :(... but yea, i used this day and night. and didnt mess with my blemishes at all and when i do that, my acne goes away... i think bc all the sets and things for acne m\just irritate my skin...it wont go away over night, but if u do it religiously itll go away.. and as far as a quick fix, the only thing u can do is use a light foundation and powder.. yes its pry not the best bc igoing on the blemish, but i do it and it seems fins as long as i wiash my face when i get home. hth
Reply:i use proactive i thought i had the worst skin but i used proactive and it cleared up in a matter of weks
Reply:Aside from answers trying to push their products, try Proactive, it really works. It's that simple. Follow directions to the letter no matter how tried you are. Reward.....good skin.
Reply:You might want to consider the Unblemish regimen for your acne. My teens and husband had great results with it. Dry skin and pimples ?

i use simple face wipes to clean my face every day as i find that soap and water dries out my skin. lately iv found that my nose is constantly covered in pimples and dry skin. it can be covered up with make up but as i dont wear make up every day is there any product i could use other than soap that could clear it up ??

i have to be careful wat i use as i have really dry skin and some products affect it and make it worse ?? please help . thanks.
Dry skin and pimples ?
Hi,

Well first things first, you should be using an exfoliator at least once a week. I recommend the Microfine Refinisher from MAC. Exfoliating will help get rid of any dry skin cells causing new, fresh skin to show on your face (getting rid of dry patches).

You should also be using a facial moisturizer AT LEAST once a day, if not twice. I use one by The Body Shop, but know that sometimes it will take going through a couple of different brands until you really find which works best for you. Most moisturizers vary for light, dry, or very dry skin. Use your own discretion. Remember to use a moisturizer that is made for your face, not for your body.

I used to work for MAC and we have a product called Everyday Lotion Cleanser. It's a regular facial cleanser with more of a lotion-like feel to it, made especially for dry skin. I've also heard of people using Cetaphil %26amp; Phisoderm.

MAC products are hypoallergenic and people with sensitive skin often use our product.

Hope this helps!
Dry skin and pimples ?
try hemp facial moisturiser from The Body Shop
Reply:The face wipes can be drying your skin out. The material they are made out of can be drying out your skin. I used to use noxzema and that worked. I saw that noxzema had facial wipes and I tried them out to see if I would get the same result and I didn't. So try to see if you can get a product that is similar to the facial wipes but a liquid or something. i hope that helps.
Reply:i have bad dry skin to for the pimples dry netragena acne wash it will work but in like 3 days you will be so dry use a butter cream hand lotion on your face every day and befor mackup at night dry nivea
Reply:I have the same problem, or should I say HAD. I used to try this and that but I found that a simple face wash works best. St. Ives Apricot scrub...gets rid of the dead skin and cleans up the acne. :) Use twice a day and you should see good results. If you still have dry skin, use a little facial lotion and try to avoid your break out areas.
Reply:You have the same problem as me. You have sensitive skin and are allergic or intollerant to Simple products .... which is surprisingly quite common. If your skin is too dry it can get pimply so you need to find a good hydrating moisturiser that you are not allergic to. I am using a calming cream from Boots Botanics which has mallow in it. It's about 拢6.99 for a small tub and it seems to be helping me. Also avoid a cleanser that is too drying. You can get at a good pharmacist a mixture of wax and water very cheaply. It cleanses and it doesnt dry - a big bottle costs about 拢3 - 拢5 - ask at the counter for it. Drink plenty of water. Patience is essential by do try to rehydrate your skin and hopefully it will all balance out
Reply:I have the same thing. You put mosituriser on the dry bits then you get oily skin and pimples!

I use St Ives scrub (for sensitve skin) every night around my nose and other oily bits. I don't use the scrub on the drier parts of my face. Then in the morning, moisturise, with Nivea for dry skin. Seems to work for me. Occasionally when it dosen't work, say my face is really dry. I put loads of moisturiser on, then use pressed powder (can get it from Boots) to take the incredible shine off my face!
Reply:Use a mild exfoliator to get rid of the dead skin. Use a non comedogenic (does not cause pimples) moisturizer. You could try proactiv, but the repairing lotion component might be too much for you.

I have the same problem. I use an acne wash with benzoyl peroxide, a toner, antibiotic topical solution and moisturizer. Proactiv makes my skin too dry now.

If you are having a really hard time you may want to go to a dermatologist.

Check those face wipes as to what is in them. They may be clogging your skin if they have oils in them.
Reply:i have the same problem. my forehead and nose is very dry and flaky. my chin stays broke out. for about a week now ive used proactive solution and it has worked wonders on my chin. i still have dry skin though. i use oil free mousturizer. also the st ives apricot scrub it good for flaky dry skin. good luck! i know how you feel.
Reply:I get the same sort of problem, especially in the winter when the wind is harsh and the air inside is dry. I have skin that is both dry and oily at the same time, so even when my skin is flaking and feels tight, I have a lot of shine and periodic breakouts. I've found that acne medication just makes it worse for me because it dries out my skin further, leading to irritation and blocked pores. I wash with plain water and a soft facecloth every morning and night, and occasionally use Dove face wipes for sensitive skin. I also use Dove lotion for sensitive skin. I've tried other products, but these seem to be working best so far. Experiment with some different brands, and make sure what you're using is for sensitive skin so you run less chance of irritating your skin. Make sure to use a light moisturizer, even though this may seem contrary to logic when you want to dry up acne. And remember to drink lots of water.
Reply:i use PROACTIVE. have been for over 5 years. i had a combination of skin problems(dryness, oiliness, breakouts) i never wore make up,, but i know that since i have been using proactive.. it helps alot. they have a oil free moisturizer. all their products work for me.

before that i used tea tree products from the body shop (in most malls) and they did ok, or simple tea tree oil from longs, walgreens, any drug store should carry it)

you might just have to experiment with different products...take some good vitamins and drink lots of water (it does help) .. good luck :)
Reply:Try Noxema
Reply:Try and wean yourself off chemical based skin care of any kind. Consider using only certified organic skin care -- products made from only natural ingredients.

One great moisturising product is the Body Cream by miessence useable all over but perhaps worthwhile considering for face is one of their skin-type based moisturizing products.

Too many off the shelf products contain chemicals that can actually have an opposite effect on sensitive skins than what you are trying to acheive. Using the organic and nourishing Body Wash from the miessence range should not dry your skin in the first place.

You can check out more details about the products -- and more importantly read more about why you should avoid some chemically produced products -- facial wipes for instance often contain a chemical cocktail that can be pretty harsh on your skin:

http://www.saferalternative.com
Reply:You should'nt use any kind of fancy face washes etc. you should mostly use a bar of soap and water to keep your face clean which will prevent pimples and also get a pimple cream.
Reply:scrub your face with apricot scrub (heavy duty exfoliation), then with oatmeal soap (super moisturizing).

Then while your face is damp, slather on too much lotion. lubriderm in good. just keep rubbing your face till all the lotion is rubbed in.

The thing I realized a long time ago, is that if you have acne, makeup dosent hide it it just looks like you have a bunch of skin-colored bumps and the makeup doesn't go on quite right.

I have bad skin, but what I told you to do is what I do, and I just use a simple foundation powder. you can still see that my skin is imperfect, but it makes my skin look smother and not shiny. and I don't look like I am wearing an inch of makeup, which is how most girls look when they try to cover bad skin.

What's the best skin care brand for sensitive skin?

I have very sensitive, dry skin. i'm currently using Simple brand skin care which is suppose to be very mild and especially formulated for sensitive skin but it still irritate my skin sometimes.
What's the best skin care brand for sensitive skin?
Cetaphil is very very good for sensitive skin. No fragrances either. You can even use it on babies. Purpose cleansers/lotions are good also
What's the best skin care brand for sensitive skin?
I guess so.
Reply:Lever 2000 for some reason it doesnt irritate my skin plus i have super sensitive skin. so i like to use that soap.
Reply:TimeWise 3 in 1 Cleanser and Moisturizer from Mary Kay are made specifically for sensitive skin. They are both fragrance free and non-comedogenic. And they both come in two formulas, one for normal to dry, and one for combination to oily skin. My skin is easily irritated as well. And this has been the best product line that I have found that doesn't cause me any irritation! You can find it here:

My skin(Esp. face) puffs up like crazy when I put anything from a moisturisor to foundation(powder for sensiti

ve skin, bronzer, all natural make-up) on it. It seriously puffs up so that I look like I have chubby cheeks! I was wondering if anyone else has this problem and if there is anything I can do about it. I've been to doctors about it who are just baffled about it so.... what do i do? Right now I'm content with eyeliner, concealer under my eyes and a bronzer that for some reason doesnt seem to make me puffy but I'd one day like to wear foundation like normal people and have flawless skin like them for photos :) Soo yea what to do.
My skin(Esp. face) puffs up like crazy when I put anything from a moisturisor to foundation(powder for sensiti
Lilly, I'm wondering what brand your bronzer and concealer are. Perhaps that might be key to finding out what foundation you might be able to wear. Does your concealer make a foundation or does your bronzer formulate a loose mineral foundation? If so, that might help if you haven't already tried those products.

Failing the above, I'd recommend Jane Iredale products for the following reasons. Take particular note of what is NOT included in the ingredients which can often lead to sensitivities if not immediately, then often times, a delayed reaction down the line. You shouldn't have a problem with this.

"-Non-comedogenic, will not block pores.

-Virtually no allergy risk. All products have been sensitivity tested.

-Broad-spectrum UVB and UVA protection - up to SPF 20.

-Anti-inflammatory, helps to calm and soothe irritated skin.

-Very water resistant rating by an approved FDA lab.

-Complete coverage for skin conditions like acne, rosacea and redness following treatments like chemical peels and laser resurfacing.

-Contains no talc or parabens.

-Composed of inert minerals that cannot support bacteria.

-Environmentally aware.

-No products have been tested on animals"

For sensitive skin I recommend Jane Iredale mineral make-up. I have clients who insist on putting on make-up after chemical peels, facials and/or microdermabrassion and, if they must put anything on at all, I'd rather see them put on something natural than something filled with chemicals that almost invite a reaction either immediately or somewhere down the line. Iredale products contain natural anti-inflammatories and antibiotics to help calm and soothe the skin. Not only is this product good for your skin, it's absolutely gorgeous on. Since your skin is sensitive, you can, of course, use an all natural brush and use your own pressure when applying.

As far as your regular concealer and eyeliner go, you can go ahead and use them though with these minerals you may find you don't even need the concealer. When applied with a dampened clean sponge, this mineral powder is a great concealer and will even hide fine lines if you have any.

Things to avoid in make-up are talc, paraben (possible link to breast cancer as well as accelerated aging) , pthalate (posslible links to cancer and adult infertility,

about parabens:

about pthalates: http://www.ourstolenfuture.org/NewScienc...

As far as cleansers and moisturizers, try Cetaphyl. It's one of the gentlest products you can use on your skin. Purpose is another great brand. Both are recommended by dermatologists and are drugstore products that are inexpensive. They each have cleansing and hydrating products. You can read about them here:

My skin(Esp. face) puffs up like crazy when I put anything from a moisturisor to foundation(powder for sensiti
Get a silver spoon. Let it sit in ice for about 2 mins. Then put the cold spoon on the places that looks puffy.

That should help.
Reply:I am baffled like the doctors.

My recommendation is to try other products and see if you can find one that doesn't make you puffy. Try bare minerals foundation powder. That isn't so harsh on the skin.
Reply:Although it is unlikely, you might be allergic to your foundation. Try Almay or Clinique they are both hypo-allergenic and should work for sensitive skin (I have sensitive skin too and I only use these brands)! Good luck!

Burnt skin peeled off...?
You will probably have a light scar, but you can buy a product called "Mederma" and it will help it not to scar so much...and can also help it fade.
Burnt skin peeled off...?
It depends on how badly you burnt your skin. You may have a small scar but nothing too major.

Flaky dry skin under and at the side of my nails? Any cure?

I have very flaky and dry skin on the side and under my nails for a while now! I've spent some time taking out the dead skin with a clipper everyday and also tried moisturizing cream! It gets better after a few days but the skin under and at the side my nails will start to flake off again when I start using my fingers a lot which is really inevitable! I figure I might have really soft and dry skin cells which might be the real cause! Anyone has this problem before and would love to offer suggestions for a cure?
Flaky dry skin under and at the side of my nails? Any cure?
May appear to the sensitive skin-covered parts, DRY SKIN problems respond well to self-care measures, such as using moisturizers and avoiding long, hot showers and baths. If you have very dry and scaly skin, your doctor may recommend you use an all-natural cream that contains natural oils that gives soothing and glowing results.

In a more serious skin disease, such as ichthyosis or psoriasis, your doctor may prescribe prescription creams and ointments or other treatments in addition to home care.

Dry skin leads to dermatitis, which causes red, itchy skin. In these cases, treatment may include lotions with natural-oil ingredients. If your skin cracks open, your doctor may prescribe wet dressings with mildly astringent properties to contract your skin and reduce secretions and prevent infection.

Prevent Skin Cancer / Remove Normal Moles?

I have over 70 small normal moles. I asked my family physician and a dermatologist to remove these spots. They said, they won鈥檛 because the spots look ok and I would get scars. I read several times, if you have more that 50 normal moles, they should be removed to prevent skin cancer. I don鈥檛 want to wait until the moles look bad, until I鈥檒l get cancer. I want to treat it, before I get skin cancer. I also want to get rid of these ugly spots.

Who has experiences with moles and skin cancer?
Prevent Skin Cancer / Remove Normal Moles?
Hun, just having the moles removed will not prevent skin cancer. Any cells that are dangerous, go further than just the surface of the mole on your skin, and you would literally need to have small/ large holes dug in your skin to possibly get to the bottom of them.

Think of a jellyfish - the main part of the jellyfish is on the surface of the water, but the tentacles are hanging down....

If someone could come along and slice just the body of the jellyfish off at the water line, those tentacles would still be hanging down - and capable of stinging.

It's basically the same way with your moles. They just don't sit on the surface, but have "tentacles" that go down into your tissue. As long as there doesn't seem to be a problem such as discolorization, changing shape, size or texture, you really should leave them as they are for the time being.

Have you had any biopsies done ? You could always insist to your doctors that they do a biopsy.... for your piece of mind, but generally, I would take their advice - and I personally would agree with it.

Several types of moles have a higher than average risk of becoming cancerous. They include:

Large moles present at birth. Large moles that are present at birth are called congenital nevi or giant hairy nevi. These moles may increase your risk of malignant melanoma, a deadly form of skin cancer. In general, moles that are more than the size of an adult open palm pose the greatest risk. Have your doctor examine any mole that was present at birth and is palm-sized or larger.

Moles that run in families. Moles that are larger than average 鈥?which is about 1/4 inch (6 millimeters), or the diameter of a pencil eraser 鈥?and irregular in shape are known as atypical (dysplastic) nevi. These moles tend to be hereditary. They're frequently described as looking like fried eggs because they usually have dark brown centers and lighter, uneven borders. Overall, they may look red or tan. If you have dysplastic nevi, you have a greater risk of developing malignant melanoma.

Numerous moles. If you have many moles larger than a pencil eraser, you are at greater risk of developing melanoma.

Was a practising Geriatric Oncologist for many years.
Prevent Skin Cancer / Remove Normal Moles?
The moles don't cause cancer. They are an indicator of cancer. Just because you remove them does not mean you won't get skin cancer. Stay out of the sun as much as possible. Wear sunblock when you have to be in it. keep going to your doctor for annual checkups. Watch the moles for any changes in them. Irregular borders changes in size, shape or color and so on. I have quite a few of my own and I'm not having any removed. Also my wife passed away 12 years ago from melanoma. Just be careful. Report anything unusual to your doctor. If caught early it is very curable,

Pale skin.?

As the title says it. i have pale skin and absolutely HATE it. i feel so white compared to everyone and it feels awkward. it just feels more socially acceptable to have tan or dark skin. does everyone feel the same about pale skin?
Pale skin.?
i think pale skin is beautiful. you shouldnt be ashamed.. ppl wud kill too look light skinned... i htink its pretty as dark skin is also
Pale skin.?
Being tan now is becoming less popular. People are becoming more aware of how dangerous it is for your health.
Reply:I also have VERY pale skin. There's nothing I can do about it. If I try to tan, I burn. People always make comments to me about how pale I am, and it used to really bug me but it doesn't anymore. You need to learn to accept what you can't change about your body. Feeling bad about your pale skin won't make you more tan, its just going to lower your self esteem. A lot of older people I've talked to say that they think pale skin is beautiful. But if your that bothered by it, you could always use fake tanners.
Reply:Yes, my sister has the same problem and feels the same way, because she's a vegeterian. But she says if you wear bronser it helps, and it looks really nice. You're no longer that pale, and you have a nice tone on your skin. Oh they also sell cream that's a bronser.
Reply:i have very very pale skin also and you shouldn't be ashamed of it because ts becoming quit popular now..also its much better than looking like a pumpkin trying to change it.
Reply:No pale skin is beautiful- it used to be the ultimate sign of beauty and wealth because it meant that you didn't work in the sun or do hard labor. You have to start thinking differently about your looks. Everyone is different and you have to love who you are and not worry about what the trend is. I think so many women who are pale are just beautiful... Nicole Kidman, Naomi Watts, Rachel McAdams, Kate Blanchet(sp?),Kirstin Dunst, and so many more. I am pale and I love it because I know that by staying out of the sun that I will look younger.

EDIT- I am not sure why she has my answer but it is rude if she did it on purpose. I was being serious and I do not like being mocked.

Reply:I'm probably biased because I'm on the pale side too, but I think pale skin is lovely. I'm guessing the problem some people have with fair skin is thinking it looks unhealthy, but I've always found fair skin to look bright and luminous. You can help by wearing colors that brighten your complexion. Rather than try to look more tan, try playing up your fairness and wearing it well. If you can feel good yourself about how you look, it'll come through to others.

Dermatologist, skin experts...i need help?

ive already spent thousands of dollars on my skin but nothing seems to work. I've been receiving treatments from an esthetician for almost a year now. Lasers, microdermabrasion, chemical peels. Also been using the products they gave me. I've waited for results but i'm quite not satisfied. there's little or no change on my skin at all. Also, before i received the treatments i had tiny white bumps on my forehead that they were able to treat since they disappeared for a while. Now im worried why these tiny bumps are back when i'm sill getting treatments ( a chemical peel, and series of microdermabrasions). Also my forehead seems scaly and thick. Like there's a layer of skin covering it that needs to be peeled. My face became drier too. What' going on? I'd appreciate links to websites too that might help. thankyou.

This is stress, plain and simple. I am so sorry that a fellow doctor would put you through what they've put you through.... disgusting. Most doctors are in it for money, and if you believe otherwise, then you're being naive. Psychologists, dermatologists... etc... they love paychecks, the more you return, the more money they make. Be careful. Your problem is stress related, it's something they won't tell you here in America. I am so burdened that so much of this is going on in America....I constantly am asked by patients what alternatives do we have? European medicine, plain and simple... or Canadian.... the Canadians believe in healing and actually dealing with the problem before throwing procedure or drugs at it. What you need to do is first realize you don't even have a problem, then start with meditation to visualize this very thing, that no problem exist. Then, through yoga and educating yourself on stress-related skin diseases you can find your way out of the forest..... good luck, and be well, Jack

Stop doing all of these things to your face. Chemical peels are aweful. They just make irritated skin even more irritated. The best thing for you to do is go very natural, so that your face can relax. There are a few products you can buy right inside wal-mart or even Target. Get some scrubs that do not irritate skin, and some facial buffers, if your skin is dry you will also want to find a moisterizer that does not clog pores. I promise that if you go natural with your face, most if not all of these problems will go away.
Reply:solution is not existing
Reply:you may want to consider that the problem is deeper than the skin. i know someone who had the same problem with her skin- she started seeing a thickening and an orange peel type texture and also very dry. simultaneously she was losing hair. she went to the doctor and it was her thyroid.

it makes sense that it could be caused by your hormones being off, since none of the other treatments are working. If you are having any other weird symptoms, you may want to consider having it checked out!

good luck.
Reply:I've always been nearly obessive compulsive about my skin care, so I'm going to try to suggest a few ways to help.

I've always believed skin is a reflection of a person's health. Usually with skin, I've found it's best to eat lots of fruit and healthy foods, get daily exercise, and drink lots of water. In other words, lead a healthy lifestyle. Getting rid of stress and enjoying yourself does wonders. Also, it's necessary to find a good daily facial cleanser that's right for you. I use Olay daily facial wash, because I have thin skin and it's gentle. Afterwards, I apply their lotion. If your skin is extra dry then I suggest a heavier lotion. From everything that i've tried, heard, and experimented with for the past years, this is the best method for healthy skin. Of course, if you've already resorted to laser treatments and all you have probably already tried everything you can in terms of these methods. If you haven't then it wouldn't hurt giving it a shot. However, the results from this takes patience as any changes with the body does. It's almost like trying to lose weight.
Reply:What skincare do you use in between treatments? Retin A (tretinoin) is very good and so are Alpha Hydroxy Acids and L-Ascorbic Acid Serums (pure vitamin c). Also do you use sunblock daily, because that is very important to protect your skin during all these treatments. HTH : )
Reply:my suggestion is to get rid of any stress. i do yoga and meditation every day, take bubble baths frequently, use the sauna and hot tub and my house, drink tea and sit by the fire, cuddle up with my cat, take a nap every once in a while, go horsebackriding, go on a tropical vacation, forget work and just enjoy yourself for an ENTIRE day of pampering at a spa (this REALLY helps) give yourself a foot bath, get someone to give you a back massage, sleep in, have a good time, etc. ALL of these things helped me to get rid of my stress. just focus on being relaxed. good luck!

Natural skincare for people on a tight budget, but who want real and fast results. Appropriate for people with acne, dry skin, oily skin, wrinkles and the prevention of them.
Reply:I love Mary Kay microdermabrasion- but I find that microdermabrasion alone is not enough to help. You need to use cleanser/freshener/toner, followed with microdermabrasion and then a moisturizer. Lack of moisture is probably why your face is becoming drier- you are stipping your skin of all it's natural elements in these treatments and not replacing the vitamins and moisture it needs.

Try the MK microdermabrasion-- best if you use the whole skincare line, I've put a link below to a free sample...

but remember, don't keep doing lots of different treatments to your skin, it's probably crying. You may need to let it rest for a little while, and breathe (no makeup) and then find one thing that works and stick with it. EVen though it might not appear to work right away you have to give it a chance and not switch around a lot.

Try the free sample-- let me know what you think!
Reply:I've had skin problems, but they're getting better now. I just simplified my routine. I made sure to use a cleanser morning and night, and I moisturize. Get an oil-free moisturizer. Also, I don't recommend exfoliating. It just irritates your skin if it's breaking out. The only kind of exfoliant you should use is microdermabrasion, but don'ot over-do it. I also started using a mineral makeup (jane iredale), and I love it. My skin felt so much beter using that than the other products i've tried. Once my skin got time to relax I would just use a little benzoyl peroxide (at night) on areas that started to get pimples. I've been using the Clearsil Acne Spot Treatment (or something like that).
Reply:i'm not sure what happened there honey, but i'm doing chemical peeling at the moment and it works great making my skin smoother and getting rid of my clogged pores. and i'm planning to do microdermabration to cure my little acne scars. but if these treatments (maybe its the stuff that they pu on your face isnt right for your skin) are not working well on you you should stop it and do something more simple. get a good face scrub. i'm using one cheap durgstore scrub right now and it works great. Try St.Ive's. My skin is so much more clearer. Or try Lancome mask. I'm not sure which one it is, ask the MA. she'll help you. i heard that Lancome mask is great for peeling out your dead skin cells.

good luck.

ps. if you're not allergic to natural oils, then try massaging some on your face. it might help with your dry skin. I have something to recommend. try Biotherm AquaSource (i think?). The beige one for dry skin. it has all the water you need and it will help out with your dry skin. dont rely on treatments. rely on your skincare regimen
Reply:Your skin is peeling because of what your doing to it. It's dry because it's damaged and burnt.

If I send you a sample of a product i sell, would you be willing to try it exclusively for about 5 days?

I recently gave a sample to a girl with similar problems, who's skin is so sensitive. She couldn't use clinique, mary kay, Merle Norman or any of that....but my product worked great and her skin loved it!

Please e-mail me, I'd love to try to help you.

I won't spam you...I'm not a pushy salesperson or anything, just a mom and wife who has found wonderful skin care products and decided to share them with others.
Reply:Maybe I missed something but I'm not quite sure why you are having this all done. The tiny white bumps might be an allergic reaction from a healing cream they may have put on your skin after wards???? I would speak to your dermatologist to find out if you are doing too much, maybe you do need to let it heal for a little bit. Would love to know why you are doing all these treatments?

Brighten Skin Color.?

Yeah, what are some ways to brighten skin color? Creams or anything? I'm an African American girl and I want to know if anything good works.

ALSO.

I've read alot of questions like this and alot of answers were rude and the person that asked the question was usually called a 'rasist'. Well, you can STFU if you plan on calling me that. Got it? O_o

The reason is, their are certain areas of my skin that are darker than the others, and when I put on make-up, it doesn't come out the way I want. So I want a way to even %26amp; lighten my skin color.

Thank you for listening/helping and not being complete jerks!

%26lt;3
Brighten Skin Color.?
you can try esoterica.. you can get it at your local pharmacy .. or you can get a stronger cream but needs a prescription.. its hydroquinone
Brighten Skin Color.?
use a hydroquinone 4% complex.

glyquin XM brand it麓s the best.

hydroquinone produces depigmentation of the skin by inhibition of the enzmatic oxidation.

is indicated fot the gradual bleaching of hyperpigmented melanin skin.

when you use a hydroquinone complex, you should use a sunscreen protector with a minimum of 30 SPF,when you expose to sun.

you can buy this at http://www.skin-etc.com/ind.html
Reply:it's ok to wanna look better. see, i was tan and like i wanted to be more paler too. there's one question: would u want to do it with makeup or become paler naturally?? i think naturally is better because even if you forget to put on makeup, u'll still look good. but the thing with becoming brighter naturally is that it takes a lot of time and patience. makeup is ok too. if ur gonna use the makeup instead of naturally, here's the only way i know how to do it: buy 2 kinds of face powder- the color you are now and the color u wanna be. then, blend those together to have a natural looking tone. but here's the way i like; becoming paler naturally: it took me all summer to do this, but it was worth it. first of all, you need hydration. Drink lots of water. You are supposed to drink ATLEAST EIGHT 8oz. bottles of water every day. you could try increasing one bottle every day (like the first day 8 bottles, the second day 9, the third day 10) Second of all, be sure to get plenty of Vitamin C. Orange juice, lemonade, watermelons are great sources. Vitamin C has nutrients good for ur skin and it makes u brighter. Oh and last thing: stay out of the sun as much as possible. Be sure to stay away from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the summer. The sun darkens ur skin a lot. Anyway, i hope this helps, it made me sooo much fairer and i hope you'll get the tone you want. good luck!

Little loose skin after weight loss but dont want surgery plz suggest excersize?

I am 30 married but no kids.i was 75 kg 3 months ago then i joined gym and lost nearly 15 kgs in 2-3 months everything was fine but later i found myself with little loose skin all over my body. then i tried to gain the same lost weight to fit into same skin but it still was loose now i want to loose weight again and get rid of this skin problem. it is not very loose but i can see that it is not what it used to be i mean i can feel it shrinking to one side when i massage my hand on my body.i am worried will it ever come back?i dont want to go for surgery cause it is not that loose. PLEASE PLEASE help me cause my skin was the best possesion of my life.PLEASE HELP !!!!
Little loose skin after weight loss but dont want surgery plz suggest excersize?
I'm no expert on the subject, but I was an exercise science major in my undergraduate studies and can say that your skin sometimes lags behind a bit. Skin is ellastic and before it was stretched from excess body weight (fat accumulated between your skin and your muscles). Now some of that fat is gone and your skin is not stretched as much anymore. It should firm back up with a little time. You've just lost a lot of weight in a short period of time and your body is playing catch up!

Two things you can do to try to speed that up are:

-Make sure you are hydrated- drink water! It is the best thing you can do for your skin. Lotion is a good idea as well. How to tell if you are properly hydrated? Two ways (both dealing with the bathroom) first off- what color is your pee? It should be tinted yellow--- but not actually yellow. If it is yellow drink more water. Also, how often do you have to go? If looking at your pee makes you gag, just count how many times you go to the bathroom to pee in a day. If you only have to go 2-5 times a day (24 hours) you should probably drink more water.

-Start lifting weights- and eat some protein- this will help you gain some muscle weight which will help give you a toned look.

Do these two things and in about 2-3 months you should be able to keep the weight off AND get rid of that loose skin feeling.

Also, thought I don't think this relates to you, most complaints of "loose" skin is actually not loose skin but a bad body composition ratio brought about by crash dieting. Read about it here: http://www.bodyfatguide.com/LooseSkin.ht...

To avoid this "Loose skin" the best thing to do is diet and exercise and lose no more than 1kg per week.

(As you have done-- bravo and good luck!)

Reply:One thing that has help me is a European Body Wrap. I recently lost 50 pounds and found myself in the same situation. Tee body wrap was tremendously effect and I bought a 6 treatments for 300 US dollars.
Reply:Yes I have a solution which you can consider seriously. Am sure it would work if you willing to give it a try.

* Use a reasonable amount of dead sea medicated bath salt (must be of fine texture) and massage lightly in circular motion on the loose skin.

* After you have scrub it, you will feel a sense of heat around the area. If you use normal kind of bath salt, it wont not work.

* Then you apply a layer of dead sea body mud mask on the loose skin area and wrap it with clingwrap (few rounds).

* Leave it on for 10 - 15 minutes for it to dry.

* Unwrap and you will see some red patches on the area. Its a good sign as it has helped you to burn off excess fats and firm up the area.

* Shower off and apply virginal oil to ease away any possible wrinkles.

* Do it daily if you want to solve your problem fast or do it alternate days.

Check out the link on the products I'm referring to. This exclusive range of products works well when you use it together. However you will also see results when you follow closely the tips I have given you.

You can always email them at sales@dewdroplets.com for details.
Reply:As others said already: Drinking water, protein shakes, muscle building.

Something strange I do in addition: I heard a lot about body lotions containing Caffeine, and Algue-Coffeine Bathlotions.

So I add left over coffe and second -brews to the bath water.

The coffe grains in the filter make a really great body scrub - don't worry, it rinses off the body and shower walls without trace.

My 'invention' (boasting, lol) is the best body scrub for elasticity and softness of skin I ever tried.

But don't worry, at your age the skin will become firm sooner or later naturally anyways, if you don't let it get too dry and keep up exercising.

Can skin tags get smaller?

ok so here is my story.im 18 male and i have a skin tag way under my leg near my groind. Kind of near my balls because they hit it but it is on my leg. I had it quite a long time but it is now starting to bother me. I just came back from florida for vacation and its very humid and hot. So im walking allday and my legs near my groind get irrated but the 1st time it was actually my leg so i put gold bond powder. That seemed like it affected my skin tag and i guess shrunk it. Now i can feel it whenever i move my legs a certain way and it never happened before until a few days ago. i dont want to have it taken off ( yet ) if it gets worse ill consider. But is it common for them to shrink? I got a little little skin tag near the top of my armpit which is about 5 times smaller than the other and no issues with that and i had that 1 most my life. Im not overweight either. real answeers please. And do they fall off by themselves?
Can skin tags get smaller?
have someone tie a white string around it, it will fall off.
Can skin tags get smaller?
10 points!! good luck. Report It

Reply:no they dont get smaller you have to go to the dermatoligist to have them removed !! i did i hurts alittle but it is worth it . one thing they do come back
Reply:My Dr thinks they are a virus but nobody knows because they don鈥檛 do anything. Go get some sharp scissors (like nail scissors) and just pull on it and cut it off.. It may bleed a lot but that is what I do. (this is what she told me to do)
Reply:yes, they can fall off by themselves, but I think rarely. My daughter had one in between her eyelashes that kept growing bigger, so when I took her to the doctor, she freaked out so much when she saw the scissors coming near her, the dr. refused to remove it. By the end of the night she had cried so much, that it just fell off! I've had them, and have never seen them get smaller only bigger. I've had the dr. snip them off and it's very painless and quick. ( i've actually even cut a couple off myself, but am not in any way recommending it ). My mom swears that if you keep putting aloe vera gel on them through out the day they will just fall off. I personally don't have the patience for that. Hope that helps

The remedy is as follows, as per ayurveda

Buy online Kanchnar Guggulu from an ayurvedic pharmacy, and take 250 mg twice a day after lunch and dinner, for 45 days.

IN ayurveda, there is a wonderful treatment called kshar sutra chikitsa, which involves tying a medicate dthread around the growth and tighten it, the thread slowly sinks into growth and separates from the body, without a drop of blood oozing! If you decide to go for this, find a practitioner expert in this treatment.
Reply:The ladies at my work have discussed this, and the consensus is you can remove them yourself. A couple mentioned their dr.s had recommended this. Make sure your scissors or clippers are very sharp and dip them in alcohol.
Reply:The string thing works....My husband had a skin tag in his armpit and I tied a string around it and after a week or so..it fell off....No more skin tag!!!

Itchy Skin?

My skin is getting extremely itchy.. I know it could be winter skin itch.. but still... my left arm is cover with scars and my foot is partially covered as well.. and now it also starting on the right side.. (this is not the first time this has happened..) i was just wondering if this is just winter skin itch or if it could possibly be something else....

FYI. i already use lotion on a DAILY basis and i put cream on whatever spots i have... though some of the spots end up leaving scars..

any help is appreciated.
Itchy Skin?
You may want to see a dermatologist as you could have eczema or psoriasis. These both will cause spotty, itchy patches that will come in spurts. The lotion you are using might also be effecting those itchy areas. I would suggest using phisoderm soap and a lotion that has oatmeal in it.

Bad skin..proactiv last option?

i used to get compliments about my skin all the time!about how i didnt have any bumps and my complexion and all that but every since i got my eye brows arched my skin has been horrible!i went to the dermotogist twice already and they prescribe me stuff and it works but then my skin just breaks right out again. now my lips have lil bumps on them,my chin is breakin out real bad, my nose, and my forehead.what am i to do?should i use proactiv?what about the bumps on my lips??!!WTF IS GOIN ON??!!lol help please!
Bad skin..proactiv last option?
A lot of people say that proactive dosn't work but everyones skin is different so you could try it and see how it works out for you.

. Try going to a different dermatoligist. Seeing a different pesons out put could help.

. Ask around, friends, family, people on yahoo. Maybe someone has the same problem.

. I've heard cetahphil is a great product line. It's sold at most drugstores.

. You could have a case of sensative skn, try a cleanser that contains aloe which is proven to calm skin down. The body shop has some great aloe face products. www.thebodyshop.com

. If all fail, try leaving it alone. Don't use any product on it, and just see what it does. It could clear. Maybe it just needs a breather.

. Try drinking something that will detoxify your skin. A hot cup of water with a lemon works good or anything that has pomagranate in it. These flush out the bad toxins that cause bad skin.

. Eat healthier, not as much grease and try getting an extra few hours of sleep.

Good luck and hope i helped! =)
Bad skin..proactiv last option?
Proactive and every other face washes have the same ingredients in them, so dont spend money on something that has the same effects as every other acne product. Ask your dermotologist to get a treatment that will work fast and keep them off.
Reply:In my opinion Proactiv sucks.

I used it and it almost wrecked my face!!!
Reply:nop! proactiv does not work ive treid it and its expensive!

ACNE FREE! is alot better
Reply:for me proative made my skin worse and it was all gross.

I went to the dermatologist and I am currently on these meds:

Monocycline

Clindamycin

Retin-A

Benzoyle peroxide facial wash(10%)

I swear on the clindamycin... it works wonders. the monocycline is a oral antibiotic... 1st three are prescription... hope it works. I use the C... in morning and I love it my face is all clear now! and I am only 13!
Reply:I've used Proactiv for years, I'm an adult, it has been the only product that has worked for me. Some people see results within 3 days, but for me the results took about 2 weeks when I first starting using it. It does keep pimples away, and if you do get one, they go away pretty fast with Proactiv. I was reluctant to try it, but it worked for me...maybe not some people, but I guess it depends on your skin.

Daily skin care regimen?
~DAILY/WEEKLY SKINCARE~

-You will need: Cleanser, Toner (or Astringent), Cotton Balls, Moisturizer, Mask (or Masque), Extractor (found at most beauty supply stores), and either a facial steamer or hand towel for steaming.

-Morning and night (before going to bed): cleanse, tone, and moisturize. If you have clogged pores, whiteheads and blackheads, then 2-3 times a week include steaming (in this order: cleanse, tone, steam, tone, moisturize).

-Once a week: cleanse, tone, steam, exfoliate, tone, *extractions, tone, mask, tone, moisturize. *IF NEEDED, for blackheads, pimples, etc, Don't begin doing extractions until you have been following all of the other steps for at least 2 to 3 weeks, so that the steaming will have caused any tough blemishes to begin to soften.

-How to: *

Cleanse -use a small amount and lather with water, apply using circular motions all over face and neck, repeat if you have makeup on

Tone - Squeeze a small amount onto the cottonball and wipe all over face and neck

Steam - for 10-15 minutes, using one of these methods: facial steamer, hold your face 3-5 inches above steaming water, or drape a hot towel over your face (leaving your nostrils and/or mouth exposed)

Exfoliate - follow the same steps as in cleansing, but don't repeat

Extractions - place the hoop (or eye) over the blemish (or blackhead) so that the blemish is in the center of the hoop, apply slight pressure and use rocking and rolling movements all around the blemish (don't use so much pressure that you create indentions or bruises on your skin), if and when the blockage comes out of the pore, wipe away with a cottonball that has been dampened with toner

Mask - apply mask evenly on face and neck, leave for 10-15 minutes, remove by draping a hot towel over your face, then wiping away - if it begins to sting or burn intensely before 10-15 minutes has passed remove and consider using a milder mask

Moisturize - apply a small amount on face an neck and massage until it's absorbed

*In all of these steps, always avoid the eye area.

Dry skin help?

I just started using this face scrub that is drying out my skin really bad. I usually use some different cleanser but the store didn't have the one I use so I got this one and my mom said I have to use all of it because she's not buying any more until I'm out. Well, I put patrollium jelly on the dry skin and it's making my hair oilie because my hair is getting in it. What should I use for the dry skin that won't make my hair oilie looking? Something enexpencieve!

Thanks

mix baby oil with your lotion that really helps me! just go easy on the baby oil! Aveno is the best one I have found to mix it with.
Dry skin help?
i wouldnt put vaseline on your face!!! that will make it break out! you need a facial moisturizer!
Reply:just buy the new clean%26amp;clear moisturizer they have to a green. one that moisturixes all day and a orange one it is he same. just a different smell.
Reply:Aveno . It is a medicated lotion sold in store.
Reply:Use a moisturizer and don't over work your skin by washing it too much. You're blessed if you can go a day or two without stripping the oils off your skin! That means rinse your face with a mild face wash. You should moisturize twice a day if you are too dry, and don't use the jelly cause that could hurt you!
Reply:Either way I think it might end up costing you (or your mom) more money. It sounds like you need to go back to your old cleanser...talk to you mom and explain that the new one is drying your skin out. Otherwise you are going to have to end up buying a good moisturizing cream to help with the dry skin...good ones are Eucerin, Cetaphil, and Cerave...but this will cost you about $10. The only other recommendation I have it try using some extra virgin olive oil at night if you have some at home already (yes, the kind you cook with)...not a lot...but enought to put a light coating on your face.
Reply:Try diluting your cleanser with water, so it isn't so harsh.
Reply:honey, don't use exfoliator every day. even if you have problems with acne, it's not good for your delicate facial skin.

you do need to scrub off the dead skin cells with an exfoliator (or a wash cloth), but only 2 or 3 times a week.

mostly, you should stick to a soothing, mild cleanser (non-foaming) like Cetaphil or Dove and just use your fingers. massage it in for 2-3 minutes and rinse very well (most people don't wash their face LONG enough - it's not about how hard you scrub it) with warm - not hot - water. then alternate in your scrub twice or three times a week (i use mine on days i want my skin to look extra good). but don't overdo the scrub!

another tip is to put on moisturizer as soon as you finish washing your face - it locks in the moisture. if you wait too long to put on moisturizer after you wash up, your face dries out from the water and cleanser and your moisturizer doesn't work as well.

i think you should pay for a non-irritating, mild cleanser by yourself and get into a routine that you stick to. it will be money well spent in the end! i get why your mom wants you to use up what you have, but it's not good for you to scrub every day! to heal your current dry skin, don't scrub (!) for a week, just use soap and water if you really can't get to the store, and use something like Eucerin severe dry until it clears up.
Reply:Do not put anything with boils or petroleum jelly!!!!! These WILL clog your pores. Instead use the Hydrating Creme Concentrate from Bee-Luscious. It will heal your dry skin will hydrating it. It is NOT a moisturizer. It is a hydrating cream and will hydrate your skin instead of covering up the dryness like moisturizers do.

Excess skin after weight loss?

Hey I've been working out with eating healthy cardio and weightlifting the last 3 months and went from 280lbs to 245lbs and was wondering if i lose more weight will i have excess dead skin? as of right now i dont but i have seen some people who have lost a lot of weight and have nasty hanging skin usually around the stomach and arms but then again on the biggest loser people lose 100lbs and dont have excess skin
Excess skin after weight loss?
The reason some people have the saggy skin after weight loss is if they loose the weight in a short time frame without exercising much. Since you've been loosing weight at a normal rate by exercising, your skin has time to adjust to your changing body. When you see the contestants on "The Biggest Loser" they are loosing the weight with diet and exercise, so their skin can keep up with their body's weight loss.

Get amazing skin?

What products should i use to get nice skin.

I have combination skin.(After applying my makeup, my skin is oily by 10)

What is a routine I can use every day that makes my skin look great?

(I also get pimples, so what products can I use to make them go away as quick as possible?

I would like to be able to get all my stuff at CVS.

Please answer all my questions?

Thank you everybody!!
Get amazing skin?
Honestly, the AcneFree Severe in the orange bottles is amazing! I had awful skin for a couple of years- I would stay home on Friday nights because I was so embarrassed by it. But this stuff works wonders- I saw results the very next day and people are constantly commenting now on how great my skin looks!

I have very oily skin just like you, but the toner in this kit really controls it without being overly drying. This is seriously the best stuff I've ever used and it's about $20 at any drugstore- best money I ever spent!

Which skin tone is better for Asians?

i know that being tan is in now. but im wondering if that also applies to asian girls. because my friend is also asian and obesessed with becoming paler, since its fashionable in asian to have pale skin. so, in ur opinion, do asian girls generally look better with paler skins or with tanner skin? Thank you (:
Which skin tone is better for Asians?
i'm asian and use skin lightening products.. but i only use skin lightening products to even out darkened parts of my body due to driving and age spots.. so i'm naturally fair skinned.. your question depends on one's cultural identity and tradition..

generally speaking, one's natural color is where one looks best and should feel best.. however, in these present days, most white men and women artificially tan their skin, and most asians or african americans lighten their skin.. whatever the skin goal one is into, they have the same objectives.. why?..

because of better self-esteem, a better job perhaps, or to correct skin problems.. the difference just lies in the end result .. that's why skin lightening is more criticized in the US than in asian countries.. but a fair-skinned woman will turn more heads in an asian country than a walking bronzed white woman.. the opposite runs if you're in a western country..

hope that helps give you a better idea.
Which skin tone is better for Asians?
your natural skin color is always the most attractive.
Reply:I agree with the person above me.

I like my natural skintone, which is pale. I'm really not into the whole tanning thing, and I really don't get why people are constantly trying to change their skin color, whether it's from skin lightening creams or tanning.
Reply:i agree with the first answer, all skin colours are equally attractive, and what your born with is what suits you best. the colour of anyones skin isnt beautiful or ugly, uts just a colour, and thats the one that suits them best, other colours will look unnatural on them.
Reply:i think asian people look best in their natural color. i know an asian girl who's really pale, and frankly, it's creepy! it's like she's half dead or something! and i also know an asian who's really tan, and she's pretty, but i think she'd look better her normal color.

Blue skin color after taking centrium?

My skin turns blue in about 65* temp the day after I take centrum. If i dont take it my skin color is fine even down to 40* temps.

When my skin is blue if I take my finger and press into my arm, there is a yellow mark that remains. It is pretty annoying, but I need my vitamins so what should I do? It is kind of comical like in the comics, but it concerns me because it might mean limited blood flow or something.
Blue skin color after taking centrium?
I would advise to get off the Centrum. Yes, we all need vitamins and minerals to stay healthy, however; a liquid nutritional supplement is more effective. The body only absorbs 20-30% of the vitamin tablets and absorbs 70-80% of liquid supplements.

Uneven skin from sunburn then peeling: Is there a regeneration body lotion for me?

It is all healed now, but my skin on my shoulders and the creases of my arms is splotchy from the dead skin peeling off. Is there a good regenerating lotion that I can use to restore one color skin again?

PS I am causasian, if it makes a difference.

Oily skin caused by junk food?

Both my parents do not have oily skin, in fact my mom has very dry skin, and my dad is just average.. nobody in our family tree had acne... but for some reason i have acne and ontop of that i have very oily skin,is it possible its caused by junk food and caffine?? Since the 7th grade my diet is... burger king, mcdonalds, carls jr... all i eat...im 19 now lol, has anyone had personal experience where they stop eating junk food all together and their face got less oily and their acne went away?? if so what did u start eating, please help im desperate....i want too cleanse my body or they say "detoxifiy" my body ;x
Oily skin caused by junk food?
It is highly likely that your oily skin is a result of your unhealthy diet. The only way to give it up is to eat it in moderation and gradually eliminate it if necessary. Going on a diet is mostly about common sense... you should know what you should and should not eat. Judging from the fact that you've pin pointed fast food as a primary cause of your oily skin, you seem to have enough common sense to follow through with a diet.

Basically, avoid anything you know is BAD for your skin. Below is a suggested diet plan for a full detox. I'd recommend using this as a guideline after having cut down on your junk food intake.

Level I 鈥?Least strict. Eliminate the following...

鈥?Alcohol

鈥?Packaged and processed foods (good rule of thumb: if it has more than three ingredients on the label, don鈥檛 buy it!)

鈥?Caffeine

鈥?Chocolate and cocoa

鈥?Condiments: ketchup, relish, chutney, barbecue sauce, teriyaki and soy sauce

鈥?Fats: shortening, margarine, processed oils

鈥?Grains: wheat, spelt, barley, kamut, rye, triticale, corn

鈥?Juices that are not fresh or raw

鈥?Peanuts

鈥?Processed meats: canned meats, cold cuts, bacon, sausage

鈥?Pork

鈥?Salt, in excess

鈥?Shellfish

鈥?Soy and soybean products: tofu, tempeh, soy sauce, etc.

鈥?Soft drinks

鈥?Sweeteners: refined sugar/white sugar (sucrose), brown sugar, raw sugar, evaporated cane juice, fructose, high-fructose corn syrup, honey, maple syrup, barley malt

Level II 鈥?All of the above, plus...

鈥?Beef and veal

鈥?Dairy, including butter

鈥?Mayonnaise and mayonnaise-like spreads

鈥?Nightshade vegetables: tomatoes, eggplant, peppers

鈥?Nuts and seeds

鈥?Salad dressings

Level III 鈥?All of the above, plus...

鈥?Citrus fruits (except lemon, if it agrees with you)

鈥?Egg yolks

鈥?High glycemic-index fruits: bananas, dates, figs, grapes, pineapple, raisins, watermelon

鈥?Vinegars

鈥?Mustards

All the best,

Jen.
Oily skin caused by junk food?
Possibly.

My advise is make sure you drink plenty of water to clean out your system =D
Reply:It could very well be. You should also stop eating all that fast food for lots of other reasons, but if the oily skin is whats bothering you, it's as good a reason as any to stop.

It could also be strange hormone levels
Reply:To reverse your eating habit is the key. Eat more vegetable, fruits. Cut out all burger, fried chicken, spicy food, butter, animal fat, red meat, and soda completely. Eating more steamed, lite sauteed food, and salmon. Dry skin patient needs Vitamin A, E. There is a saying: "Garbage in, Garbage out". Try to get ride of the poison in your body, and reduce the intake of the poison will reverse your problems.

Your problems are - Olly, and dry skins. Do the way I suggested will improve your health!
Reply:Your diet absolutely affects how your skin looks! You've got to stop the junk food (a least minimize it) and instead, eat fresh fruit and vegetables. Drink lots of water (6-8 8 oz. glasses). If you do not have one already, begin a good skin care regimen - one that includes a deep cleansing masque. Your skin should return to it's normal state in no time.
Reply:some cause for acne are: constipation, not cleansing the face thoroughly, to much consumption of coca-cola, tea, coffee, less consumption of water ,late nights, hormonal imbalance, vitamin deficiency, stress,

Prevention for acne Drink lots of water to prevent major skin problems. Avoid eating chocolate, fried food, and refined sugar. Keep your skin always clean by washing with very mild soaps and lukewarm water. Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables.Eating a natural diet consisting of minimum processed foods will serve as a defence against acne.Take B-complex and zinc supplements daily to strengthen the skin's resistance to acne.

Normal skin?

there are so many products and for so many skin types, but im wondering if someone wants to use a certain product but it only comes for oily skin or dry skin (wich is almost always) but the person has neither one of those wich is the appropiate one?
Normal skin?
If there's no 'normal skin' option and you don't break out often, choose the product for oily skin. This will keep your skin highly moisturized, preventing premature aging and keeping your skin soft and plump.

If you do break out regularly, choose the product made for dry skin because it contains less of the oil that pimples form out of.

Unless you've noticed that your hair makes your face greasy, there's no need to tie it back at night. If it is making your face greasy, put your hair in a pony tail on top of your head or switch to a shampoo that is made of only natural ingredients.

Hope this helps :)

this stuff is AMAZING. go to the link at the bottom! oil of olay complete beauty lotion.

Excess skin absorbsion. Can the body absorb exccess skin from previously obese people? How much? How fast?

On Dr. Phil , one guy weighed over 700 lbs. Imagine the skin left hanging if he got his weight down to 250. The only option for him would be surgury. My question? can the body absorb some skin over time?
Excess skin absorbsion. Can the body absorb exccess skin from previously obese people? How much? How fast?
The body does not "absorb" extra skin and tissue. The skin is quite elatic and often will return to it's natural size with moderate weight loss, but in extreme cases, the only answer is surgery.

Daily skin care regimen?

I am 27 years old and am looking for advice for a daily skin care

Whats wrong with my skin!!!?
Your skin does not really look bad. It looks a bit oily. It also looks as if you may have irritated it, probably with the products that you used to get rid of the pimples. Use only mild skin care products, those that are made for sensitive skin. If it contains a lot of alcohol, be careful because it will burn your skin further. Don't rub your skin or use any abrasive facial scrubs for a while. Use a light moisturizer and a mild toner. You could try witch hazel, which is a good old fashioned toner that can be found in the supermarket or pharmacy.
Whats wrong with my skin!!!?
i didnt look at your pix and dont no much about that stuff, but you should go for a consoltation at a dermatologist
Reply:The scar looks like a fingernail mark. Did you squeeze. You may be able to go for a dermabrasion at a clinic or maybe a chemical peel. these smooth the skin out.

Well, I put patrollium jelly on the dry skin and it's making my hair oilie because my hair is getting in it. What should I use for the dry skin that won't make my hair oilie looking? Something enexpencieve!

mix baby oil with your lotion that really helps me! just go easy on the baby oil! Aveno is the best one I have found to mix it with.

i wouldnt put vaseline on your face!!! that will make it break out! you need a facial moisturizer!

Undereye skin irratation?!?

Yesterday I noticed the skin under my right eye was becoming red. I thought nothing of it and that it would clear up overnight but this morning it's gotten worse! (more red and slightly raw)

It's happend before- about three months ago and took about a week to get rid of.

When I put moisterizer on it it stings (even though i use E45 for sensitive skin) so i wash it off and leave it with nothing on it.

I have sensitive skin and do wear make-up. I live in Ireland so the weather is very cold.

I was wondering if anyone had any sugestions to what could speed up the process?!

Thanks!

Undereye skin irratation?!?
Get a moisturizer that doesn't contain alcohol in it so there won't be any stinging. At night wash your face lightly and then put a warm compress on your eye area for at least 1/2 hour.
