Skin peeling near vaginal area?

I just noticed the the skin near my vaginal area is peeling. Is this something I should worry about? It's dry skin that just peels and flakes off. Could it be an allergic reaction to sanitary pads? Whenever I get my period and I always use pads, I either get very itchy, or redness. This is the first time skin has started peeling. Please help!!!!

Might be your pads and also might be the washing detergent you're using to wash your clothes! or you don't wash your body good during shower which might leave some soap residue around that area, can be other lotions you use if you wax or shave that area.

Yes it could be a reaction to the friction between your vagina and the pad....maybe try a tampon during your next cycle and see if it gets better.
Reply:I would go to the doctor.

You could have a possible STD...?
Reply:It's nothing to worry about, I had the same thing.

Its a fengul/fengal (however you spell it) infection.

You can get tubes to cure it.
Reply:If you changed pads recently that may cause it, but still I'd go to your ob/gyn and get it checked out.
Reply:While I guess its fine that you are on line trying to find out. My advice is to buck up and go at the very least go to a vag doctor and get it checked out.
Reply:Your problem could be from a multitude of reasons. Dry skin, allergic reaction to the pads, your detergent, the fabric your clothing is comprised of. Seems to me though that it is the pads if this is when it happens. I would consult your doctor, preferably an OB/GYN though.
Reply:It may be because the pad is rubbing against you too much. Try either a tampon or looser pants during your next cycle. For now, try using the creams that they sell for diaper rash to sooth the itching, they are sensitive enough that you can use them around your vagina without worrying.
Reply:I think Always pads have pads for sensitive skin. Try that and see how you feel. And like everyone said check with your gyno just to be sure and be on the safe side.
Reply:go to DR
Reply:you should go to the doctor. you may have a STD or an infection.
Reply:its probably just a rash
Reply:OMG! I feel your pain! This happens to me occasionally and it is horrible! I have had the red, hot burning sensation (feels almost like a chemical burn), then dryness, cracking, bleeding and lastly peeling of the labia. I looked on the internet quite a bit for answers, but really found nothing I thought was exactly right, thinking it might be lichen sclerosis or a type of psoriasis. I also found similar symptoms to something called contact dermatitis. My suggestion is to go to your doctor. Good luck!
Reply:try using always they are the best pads to wear plus they have different varities
