Following are some simple and effective lifestyle changes that can help your get rid of pimples:

1. Switch from oil-based makeup to water-based makeup. In case you didn't guess, the oil in many makeup products can clog your pores and lead to pimples.

2. Wash all of your makeup off every night before retiring. During sleep your skin excretes oil, if you're still wearing your makeup this can mean pimple-causing clogged pores.

3. Switch your product choices. Experiment with different kinds of soaps, shampoos, lotions, sunscreens -- anything you use on pimple-prone areas.

4. Stop washing your face so much! Once or twice a day should be enough; any more and your skin will start producing extra oil to replace what is lost with every washing. This means that if you stop washing your face as much you will become over-oily.

5. Eliminate anything that stays in contact with your skin. Another common cause of breakouts is tight clothing. The brim of a hat or waist band can halt your skin's natural cleansing processes and lead to more pimples.

6. Experiment with your exposure to the sun. Some people find that a little more sun helps clear up their skin tremendously -- others find it makes acne worse. Experiment both with your level of exposure and with the use of different sunscreens.

7. Diet modification. There's a ton of controversy over the idea that certain foods can cause a pimply breakout. Doctor's tell us the studies show that diet is unrelated, but many people vehemently oppose this idea based on personal experience. Don't listen to either of them. Experiment with your food choices and make the decision for yourself

It's simple but you won't find the solution in over the counter remedies that only mask the problem.

Proactive simply doesn't work. You need the only natural solution that can clear up your skin within 3 days.

Reply:i swear i had the same problem. I also used proactive, and retin-a and other presciption stuff. And all over the counter stuff. I'm 28 now, and just realized that all those chemicals are horrible for your skin. I didn't have acne all over at all times, but the huge breakouts were really hard to bear. A friend of mine works at a day-spa and we came across a line called Eminence from Hungary. It's organic. It has done my skin a 360 degree turn. I swear by this stuff. I use a cleanser, and moisturizer, and exfoliator since i'm 28. This stuff is like nourishment for your skin, you will feel it. Google Eminence organic. And for makeup, use all natural too, like Bare Escentuals.
Reply:Hey there!

I've suffered from severe acne for 7 years and am finally controlling my skin after spending hundreds of 拢's/$'s on useless products and hundreds of despairing hours worrying.

First off, the key word is gentle. Forget about pro active and all the other harsh products. They make work for a short while but on the whole are unhealthy for your skin and can aggravate the problem or create new problems such as dryness etc.

Use an all natural face wash, perhaps you have a health store near you? I reccommend one by a company called 'DESSERT ESSENCE' ..the name of the wash is 'thoroughly clean face wash'

It contains tea tree oil which is well known for its antiseptic and healing properties, and hundreds of other all natural, soothing ingredients. It's one of the better natural products out there. It should be easy to order online if you google it.

Secondly, you gotta treat the skin. Get yourself some diluted tea tree oil or lotion (100% will probably be too strong and can easily be misused) and after washing, apply it to the affected areas, so directly onto your pimples and oily bits, but avoid any dryer patches.

Ok, now I would go on to apply aloe vera gel, 100% natural and easy to get from all health food stores etc. once your tea tree lotion has dried into the skin, take a small amount of aloe and apply it to the whole face. It may look as if your skin is peeling when it dries, but this is just the way the stuff is, so don't worry, it's not your skin! Aloe is incredibly soothing and I find it has greatly diminished my red marks from old pimples. It will also moisturise the skin and give an all over smoother, more even appearance.

I would reccommend the above regimen for night time as the aloe vera can appear a bit 'peely' so in the morning, I suggest you wash with the facewash as described, apply your tea tree, leave to dry and then use an all natural moisturising cream (there are tonnes around, if you're searching for that facewash online look for the same brands natural moisturiser)

Apply the moisturiser over your face avoiding the areas you find get over oily, like your T-ZONE.

I know it's always been said but make sure to drink PLENTY of water as this WILL flush the toxins out of your body rather than send them through the skin. A squeeze of lemon in the water is also very beneficial. If you are a girl who wears makeup, Make sure the foundation and blusher are non comodegenic, preferably mineral makeup like 'bareminerals' and second point if you happen to be a girl, the contraceptive pill can really help clear up skin!

Also, I left out, once weekly I would advise you to use a face mask to soothe the skin further and deep cleanse. Start off by filling a bowl with boiling water, lean over this bowl and cover your head and it with a towel so no steam escapes, you want the steam to be rising directly towards your face. It may be a little unpleasant at first but it will open your pores and make it really good for the deep cleanse you are about to do with your mask. You only need to steam for a couple of minutes.

For the mask I grind up some regular oatmeal oats (oats are extremely soothing and healing) and mix them up with some honey and fresh 100% pure bio yoghurt (no other ingredients in the yoghurt!) add a few drops of tea tree and lemon juice and apply to the skin, leave on for a half hour or so.

If you need any help at all with anything else to do with your skin, let me know.
