Can skin tags get smaller?

ok so here is my story.im 18 male and i have a skin tag way under my leg near my groind. Kind of near my balls because they hit it but it is on my leg. I had it quite a long time but it is now starting to bother me. I just came back from florida for vacation and its very humid and hot. So im walking allday and my legs near my groind get irrated but the 1st time it was actually my leg so i put gold bond powder. That seemed like it affected my skin tag and i guess shrunk it. Now i can feel it whenever i move my legs a certain way and it never happened before until a few days ago. i dont want to have it taken off ( yet ) if it gets worse ill consider. But is it common for them to shrink? I got a little little skin tag near the top of my armpit which is about 5 times smaller than the other and no issues with that and i had that 1 most my life. Im not overweight either. real answeers please. And do they fall off by themselves?

Reply:no they dont get smaller you have to go to the dermatoligist to have them removed !! i did i hurts alittle but it is worth it . one thing they do come back
Reply:My Dr thinks they are a virus but nobody knows because they don鈥檛 do anything. Go get some sharp scissors (like nail scissors) and just pull on it and cut it off.. It may bleed a lot but that is what I do. (this is what she told me to do)
Reply:yes, they can fall off by themselves, but I think rarely. My daughter had one in between her eyelashes that kept growing bigger, so when I took her to the doctor, she freaked out so much when she saw the scissors coming near her, the dr. refused to remove it. By the end of the night she had cried so much, that it just fell off! I've had them, and have never seen them get smaller only bigger. I've had the dr. snip them off and it's very painless and quick. ( i've actually even cut a couple off myself, but am not in any way recommending it ). My mom swears that if you keep putting aloe vera gel on them through out the day they will just fall off. I personally don't have the patience for that. Hope that helps

Reply:The ladies at my work have discussed this, and the consensus is you can remove them yourself. A couple mentioned their dr.s had recommended this. Make sure your scissors or clippers are very sharp and dip them in alcohol.
Reply:The string thing works....My husband had a skin tag in his armpit and I tied a string around it and after a week or so..it fell off....No more skin tag!!!
