Raw skin from using bandaids?

I been using bandaids to cover a sore I have on my chest and since the skin there is VERY sensitive I seem to be taking off layers of skin with the bandaid every time I take one off. What can I use on the raw skin? I don't want to cover it with a bandaid because that's how I got it in the first place. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Rotate the band-aid placement over the sore. The sticky part of a band-aid is not very breathable for your skin. Therefore, the skin starts to break down. Give the skin a break by rotating how you stick the band-aid on. If you have been putting it on horizontally across the sore, change directions and apply it vertically across the sore.

EDIT: Do NOT go with the first answer. Using medical tape is also just as restrictive if not more so and will make the problem worse. Clearly, Brooke does not know what she is talking about, as she does not even know what the material is called. It is GAUZE, not GAW. And you don't use a disinfectant. That would be something like Lysol. You would use a topical antibiotic like Neosporin, and only on an open wound. It will do nothing for a closed, scabbed over wound. Also, do not go with the second answer. Using creams other than a topical antibiotic will cause an infection. Also, the idea is that the sore has to get air and dry out in order to heal. Unless it is a really deep wound that goes through several layers of skin, you do not want a wound to stay wet or open. An open would is an opportunity for infection. Also, both answers seem to think you are talking about the sore. In your question it appears that you mean the skin around your sore that the band-aid sticks to, and not the actual sore itself.

put a gaw on it (cotton) and use medical tape to keep it on. make sure to put disinfectant on it every time and keep it open sometimes so it can heel. when your at your house just keep it unwrapped. if it gets to bad see a Doctor
Reply:I would put cortisone on it.

Or some kind of relieving creme.

And if you want to continue use of the bandaids make sure you use creme on it, because chances are your wound is dry.
